How harmful is bleaching for facial skin?
Don't bleach your skin. Bleach is very caustic and will eat through your skin. Oxyclean is not much better for your skin either. If you really want your skin to be lighter, I would suggest an appointment with a Dermatologist, who can reccommend a safer alternative.

Just curious: why would you want to lighten the skin on your face? It's not a Michael Jackson complex I hope, lol.
Reply:Let me tell you this once you stop bleaching your face is going to be full of spots they all have their side effects none of them are good if i were you i will stop immediately
Reply:bleaching will make ur face buetiful first but if u do it continuesly it will affect u r skin.u will get many problems .pimbles, elastement of ur skin.atlast ur skin will become like ur grandfathers skin
Reply:a lt
Reply:well all i know is that bleaching facial hair can make ur skin lose its tint, color. i know because some bleach accidentally fell on the tip of my eyebrow while bleaching my bangs and now it looks like i have a scar near my eye because it lost its color
Reply:bleaching is harmfull for face because

once we bleache we get eddicted to it

and we keep on bleaching

we spoils our face by bringing holes in our face
Reply:ya try to use it once in a month

bleach is very harmful %26amp; you can wrinkle
Reply:You should use Jolen Bleach Cream. It's been on the market for a Looooong time, and has no adverse affects that I know of. It will bleach the hairs on your face, and over the long-run, it does make your skin appear lighter.
Reply:Bleach just dried it out . It is not suppose to used on skin , especially to bleach out hair ! Try waxing . Safer .

You better start moisturizing , your skin will look like a prune soon !
Reply:Yup. Once a month is good but any bleach might have allergic effects. Find out which company suits u the most
Reply:Bleaching is good but not every month.. u can bleach your skin ones in a three months otherwise u will loose the shine of ur skin %26amp; it will bcum dry...
Reply:i think that the best facial hair bleach is Jolen.... Its made just for skin so it doesnt try it out and it work perfectly!

Bleaching lightened my skin and made it uneven...help!?

Hi...I have been bleaching my upper lip for the past 5 yrs and I recently had the hair removed. A friend pointed out to me that the skin on my upper lip was significantly lighter than the rest of my face...I'm not sure what to do...it looks strange and foundation/concealer doesn't help...I have no idea what I should do to get that lighter patch to match my normal skin color...what should I do?

Bleaching lightened my skin and made it uneven...help!?
Quit bleaching it and let the skin grow back normally it will take some time but it will go back to normal.

Bleaching hair?

I'm bleaching stripes in my hair tomorrow, should i use the salon foil to keep it moist or not?

Bleaching hair?
First off, I would suggest going to the salon, if you just want two foils it wouldn't cost you that much, but if you chose to do this at home, the foil is there for two reasons. Number one, to seperate the hair from the hair that you are bleaching so that you don't get bleeding or spotting. Number two, once bleach dries out, it quits working, so the foil is there to keep the bleach moist. Bleach also works with heat, but heat from your head, not from a blow dryer. The foil then helps to keep the heat in. But again, I would suggest that you go to the salon. You can probably find a salon that will do it for 5.00 a foil, and since you want two, that would be ten bucks. Plus, then it will also guarantee that your stripes look good, and there is no bleeding or spotting. Also, one other tip, salon foil is reynolds wrap...Just so you know!
Reply:ive tried to do the foils myself...and it just didnt work.it came out in blotches. maybe use a proper hi-lite cap or go 2 a salon. ive never had problems with the hi lite caps.ive always used them!
Reply:don't do it yourself, go to a salon.
Reply:Always use a salon when working with bleach, you'll be glad that you did. With drug store bleaches there not strong enough if you have medium to dark hair. and if you have really long hair it can be difficult to get all even. And your hair will turn blonde but really brassy, a salon will have the right chemicals. For your hair to go to the right shade of your choice.
Reply:Go to the salon. I used home bleach kits until my hair melted together. Unless you want an Annie Lennox hairdo, go to the salon.
Reply:you may damage hair if u do urself. u need help of a professional

Bleaching hair? Is it super damaging?

I currently have shoulder length brown hair. I am thinking of going entirely blond (having it done at a salon of course) and my only concern would be the drying effect. Is it super damaging to your hair? Can it be done without bleaching your hair? And then also, I am growing my hair out so if I end up wanting to go back to brown, will I have to chop all my hair off? Or can I just dye it?

Bleaching hair? Is it super damaging?
if this will be your first time bleaching it, then nothing will happen. i've done soooo many things to my hair and bleach doesn't do anything bad...unless you do it thrice.

this is what they do when they colour your hair from brown to blonde:

put bleach, let it sit, then put color.

after a couple of weeks, your hair will fade out the color, depending on how many times you wash it [[lets hope every day]] and you probably wont like the color of the bleach. so then you go back and tell them i want my hair to look like what it did a few weeks back. then they wont bleach it again. they will just add colour. if they say they will bleach it again, if it was my hair, i would say no, i don't want my hair drying out.

second question can i just dye it. yes you can but the color will FADE SO MUCH FASTER THAN BLEACH. this girl in one of my classes got highlights 2 weeks ago and she didn't bleach them [[they were blonde]] and they now look light brown.

to sum it up: bleach does nothing the first time. the third time, it will fry up and be damaged. you can color it still though and that wont damage
Reply:okay i have naturally dark brown hair, i dyed it blonde and i didn't achieve the color i wanted and my hair was also harder (brassy feeling). i had it professionally done. if you want to go back to a dark color i would get it stripped and dyed. i just dyed my hair dark afterwards from a box and it still isn't as soft as it used to be.
Reply:omg please dont i did that too i had brown hair and i bleached it but now my hair is all wierd its rough like the feeling of it my scalp got screwed up and now i have grose danruff i am never going to bleach my hair again i suggest you dont but its your choice :}
Reply:YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEVER USE BLEACH OR PEROXIDE ON YOUR HAIR!!!!!!

use hair dye...i do...it works perfect.

BUT DONT USE BLEACH!!!!! IT TOTALLY FRIES YOUR HAIR AND YOU CANT GO BACK!!!!!!!!!!!

and yes you can go back...

or if you only want really blonde hair for a little while, you can find a type of hair dye that eventually washes out....just look on the bottom of the box and if it says (for ex. 24) shampoos.

it works. i do it all the time!
Reply:Bleach is damaging to your hair, But nothing will really happen intill you bleach your hair so many times...I bleached my hair to get the highlights to stand out, and my ends started turning all mushy.

No you don't have to cut all your hair off, Just color it.
Reply:ill let u in on a secret, this is miracle hair fixer which fixed my bleached hair! its called clynol id care repar, regenerate intensive collagen treatment, hair and skin is made of collagen it works by strenthening the damage and completely fixes broken hair!

How bad will bleaching my hair affect my hair?

I want to bleach my hair to go dark blonde (i am currently brown) however my hair is also dry and damaged from irons but i havent used them since summer started. I also got a hair cut today, i was wondering how bad will it affect my hair, and if it is what can i do before bleaching it so it would damage my hair as much? Any types of treatments are helpful. Thank You

How bad will bleaching my hair affect my hair?
Taking your hair from brown to a solid blonde using bleach can not only tend to look very unnatural on most people, it will cause extensive damage to the entire hair shaft. I highly suggest highlighting your hair to accentuate your facial features, minimize damage to your hair and blend best against your particular skin tone.

Hair highlighting allows you to mimic the effects of the sun with hair colors. You can accentuate or emphasize the haircut by creating contrast and dimension with hair highlights. Different hair colors add or subtract from your original hair color and offer it a range of hues and shades. A professional hair stylist can suggest the hair color that can flatter your hairstyle as well as your skin tone and natural hair color. You can also find out the hair coloring or streaking method that will do wonders for you. You can experiment with hair colors to give you the look you desire - cool and sophisticated, casual and trendy or wild and wicked!

Hair highlights are spot colors applied to selected strands of the hair. Highlighting of the hair involves lightening the hair shade by at least 2 shades. You can give your hair the sun kissed look and even frame your face with the right amount of hair highlighting. When done well, hair highlighting can add depth and volume to your hair. Lowlights are not yet very popular with most women. This involves darkening some strands of hair to achieve a different look. While a hair highlight lightens and brightens the hair, a lowlight darkens and deepens it.

Hair colors for highlighting must be carefully chosen. Opt for blonde, gold and chamomile tones. The reds, plums and aubergines work best for lowlights. The process of applying hair highlights involves wrapping strands of hair with aluminum foil after applying bleach. Yet another method is to use a plastic scull cap with holes all over. . Hair is pulled through these holes and then bleached. With this method, you can ensure that sensitive skin is not exposed to chemicals.
Reply:Bleach burns
Reply:depends on the condition of your hair... Mine is fine and damaged, so when I bleached it, it broke off like crazy. My stylist tried the lightest COLOR on me (w/o) bleach... You might want to try that
Reply:hmmm first of all don't do the bleaching yourself you could end up with some funky hair..talk with your stylist and ask her/him for suggestions..even tho you got your hair cut you may also need to do some deep conditioning.i feel at this time it's to soon for you to bleach your hair-if it's still dry and damaged (even tho you cut it) you may end up with fried hair if you still have dry damaged hair. talk to your stylist and go from there :) good luck

Bleaching cream for face.....!!?

I have an asian skin...wheatish complexion...Which bleaching cream is best for sensitive skin? where is it available?...Walmart? CVS?

thanks and regards..

Bleaching cream for face.....!!?
rub lemon juice on your face everyday.
Reply:Mr. Palmer or Ambi
Reply:Bleaching cream is not reccomended,, it could be really harsh on your skin, mix a little honey and lemon juice together, apply to your skin for 15 minutes or so then wash off.

Lemon is a natural bleach and honey is a natural moisturiser.
Reply:What do you need a bleaching cream for? To get a lighter skin color? If so, I don't think you should do it. (Think Michael Jackson).

If you have a skin condition that needs treatment, you won't find the right answer here. Check with your pharmacist or best yet, go see a Dermatologist.

Good luck! :O)
Reply:if you want to get rid of it, use sally hansen face hair remover. its a cream you put on your face that takes it off. i use it about once a month.

its NOTHING like shaving, so dont think the hair is going to grow back thicker or anything. and its not like that veet crap either. i swear by this stuff! and it doesnt matter what color your skin is, bc your removing it :-)

id be careful if you have really sensitive skin tho. as soon as youre done using it, wash your face with a light cleansing wash (like a bar soap) then put some unscented lotion on it.

How to go about bleaching roots????

How to go about bleaching roots????

Well I have very short hair, about and inch and a half all over my head. I bleached my hair blonde recently and I would like to keep my look. The problem is I can only bleach my hair once or I could cause breakage. I am planning on doing my roots but I'm afraid I'll still get the bleach on other parts of my hair. What is my best solution to bleaching my roots?? Oh, and i won't see a professional because it's just too pricey.

How to go about bleaching roots????
ive done this pleanty of times and ive learned from experience

and tragic hair clors :)

So your roots dye quicker than the rest of you hair

Because their more vunerable to heat

That means they'll be alot lighter

If your doing it at home

And not planning on bleaching the rest of your hair id say if the box says like 30 minutes id leave it on for 20-24 minutes.

Dont rub it into your scalp though

It burns SUPERRR bad

at 20 minutes through the way

Put a little below your roota and where your dying to even out the color for just a couple minutes

That little amout of bleack wont frye or damage your hair whatsoever

Maybe a little but not a noticeable about.

All bleach is going to fye your hair

Definitly if you have really dark roota like a dark brown or black

Those are the worst and always come out orgish- or red.

If you have really dark roots id leave it in for the whole time

And maybe a little bit more

that way it gives your hair time to go through the color cycle

Without you having to do a twice-over :)
Reply:Keep your hair natural
Reply:The easiest way to bleach your roots without getting it on the rest of your hair is to use the little bottle that usually comes in boxed dyes you get at the store. You know, the one that looks like a mustard bottle. It's tapered at the end so it gives you more control.

Your roots will bleach faster so pay attention to the color it's turning so it will match the rest of your hair.

If you could get a friend to help it would be easier.

If you do it yourself, get a brush, like the one when you baste

ribs. a small brush, with a long handle.

Pour your dye into a cup, and dip the brush into it and paste

it on your roots. Then, take aluminum foil and wrap that piece of hair/root that you did.....you really do not have to do that,

however, then it will not run into the bleached hair.

I have bleached my hair for 30 years, altho mime is longer.

After I do the roots, says 25 minutes....I then take what is left of the bleach and put it all on my head and mix it all up, like when you are washing your hair..leave on for about five minutes and rinse out, then shampoo. That way the roots will match the rest of your hair.

Just a memo...I always use Loreal., typo..never had a problem. Gosh use it for years and years, and do not know the spelling....I see the box and shade 9..and just take it off

the shelve.

Some are too harsh.
Reply:i bleached the roots and whole head for years every 10 days it didn't mess me up but i used reconstructor, or good cream rinse all the time. i had my hair to lenth of shoulders and then trmimmed it kept it up nice did nothing to it. i did it myself cause it was expensive you can touch the hair its ok but you can do it i did and stayed blonde nearly 20 years.

Is it ok to bleach hair again after bleaching it recently?

I tried bleaching my hair a couple of days ago to make it brown, but I think the bleach didn't work well because I bought the product a year ago. I have black hair and I left it in for 2 hours and only random parts turned very slightly brown. I want to bleach it again with new bleach, but I heard that you need to wait a certain amount of time before doing it again or it's really bad for your hair. What should I do?

Is it ok to bleach hair again after bleaching it recently?
When you bleach your hair you tend to strip your hair of vital oils and nutrients that make it healthy, and using product that was expired probably caused some damage. Your hair needs time to repair and replenish its natural oils. The best thing to do is to not wash your hair every single day, perhaps every other day if you can stand it. In order to be safe and sure, two weeks is what my colorist has recommended, but if your hair feels healthy enough, you might be able to try again after a week.
Reply:DEFINITLY WAIT! You will kill your hair if you bleach too often and too closely together.
Reply:Wait a little while longer... cause your definitely can and will fall out!!

Which can make MORE damage: bleaching your hair OR dyeing it?

if you want to color your hair bright, do you really need to bleach it? then what are the effects of bleaching hair. Can a hairstylist bleach my hair for me?

Which can make MORE damage: bleaching your hair OR dyeing it?
Bleaching is bad for your hair, but sense you have dark hair, that's pretty much the only way to go, is to bleach it and then put some color, or high or lo lights in it. I am Asian and have pitch black hair. I get my hair bleached and dyed every 4-6 weeks. Aslong as you maintain proper care, and don't do it everyday, it's really not that damaging. Just make sure you use products that are designed for color treated hair. =)
Reply:BLEACHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... + 1
Reply:bleach can be worst for your hair than dye.
Reply:bleaching is worse. it is a chemical process which is worse than dying, although dying damages the hair, bleaching is far worse. :)
Reply:Bleach always, but since you have dyed your hair black, this is the worst damage you can possibly do to your hair. If you want the put hightlights in your hair, it will turn out to be a caramel color the first time, but if you want it all over, that is color correction and that will be soooo expensive (about $70-$300). My advice it to get highlights and don't dye your hair black ever again!

PS: Black is a filler color, so you will never need to bleach your hair again to get it back to black because it absorbs the most of any other hair color. Black will bond to your hair forever unless your bleach it again. Be careful bleaching your hair so much because you might get breakage soon!
Reply:bleaching your hair will do more damage.

and it depends on what type of hair coloring you're doing. if you're doing just highlights, then bleaching it will make the color brighter, but if you have long hair, the tips can get really rough. but say you're going to color your whole head, then try to avoid bleaching. but for highlights on black hair, bleaching+coloring would probably yeild the brighter color (such as red, blue, green, purple, etc.)
Reply:You actually need to do both. Especially if you have black hair. Bleach can be many things. In this case, it's your primer for your dye, so it looks good over darker hair.

And, absolutely. A stylist can do anything for you. Simply bring in a picture of what you want, and she/he can do it.

Hope I helped! Good luck!

Bleaching Trays-22% CARBAMIDE PEROXIDE--bad for your teeth?

Ebay has a whitening kit that is sold to dentists. Its a bleaching tray kit and you wear it for fifteen to thirty minutes once a day. Its actually suprisingly cheap considering its a professional one, but they say its because they get it straight from the manufacturer. Do this ruin your teeth because of the high percentage of carbamide peroxide? or should it be fine?

Bleaching Trays-22% CARBAMIDE PEROXIDE--bad for your teeth?
it may create sensitve teeth for a while but as long as its used only on the crown of the tooth it is reversible, if it gets on your gums it can burn them and do some damage, I would only use something like that under the care of a professional, white strips are good and if youve never tried them use that first then if those dont work for you go to a dentist for stronger stuff
Reply:It thins the teeth, try natural stuff like baking soda

Or eat apples, celery or carrots,

strawberries whiten teeth naturally.
Reply:The best thing for teeth whitening is Crest Whitestrips. It works, trust me on this one. I had gone about 3 shades whiter with them and people really love my smile
Reply:If you got in on EBAY then you didn't have impressions and molds of your teeth taken. Personalized fitting trays are fabricated in office to insure that you get the best results from the product. Therefore, should be done by a dentist.

To answer your question, it won't damage your teeth, but it might make them sensitive for awhile. Every person is different. Some feel no sensitivity, during or after the trays are removed; some to hot/cold...

If you want to try and get the best results, after removing the trays, brush your teeth, and watch what you eat. Your teeth are more subseptible to staining right after bleaching. The bleach 'opens' the teeth, and bleaches the inside (sort of) Kinda hard to explain. Just avoid foods that stain.

-coffee/tea

-ketchup/mustard

-soy sauce

-smoking

-red wine

-dark colas...

Hope this helps.
Reply:I definitely wouldn't go any higher than that! all you teeth will need root canals if your do. I use 20% and I don't put them in over night because my teeth would be too sensitive! When you bleach you open the pour up in your teeth to lighten them so yes too must can hurt them.

Serious question! Anal bleaching?

Who has done it? Has anyone had any success using skin lightening/bleaching cream at home? How long does it take to see a difference? Guys, do you like it better natural, or bleached? Which is more attractive? No I'm not considering a career in porn. I just think it looks nicer. And if guys find it more attractive, then I would like to improve my body for myself, and most importantly my husband. And I said "serious question" because I seriously want to know from people who have experiencce with it. Is that so wrong? I have seen alot worse questions on here. What is so bad or stupid about this one?

Serious question! Anal bleaching?
I just HAD to read this one!

I guess it never entered ( ha ha) my mind that those porn stars bleached their anuses. Ouchy!

Let me know how it turns out.
Reply:never heard of it. If you mean bleaching the hair down there...why dont you just get rid of it..bald is much more attractive than a bushy blonde!!!!
Reply:Wow, I never thought about that...how do you do that??

Sorry I can't help with your answer, but I'm pretty sure guys like it the way it is, just smooth and hairless! good luck!
Reply:Good gosh, I have been around a long time and have never heard of anal bleaching.

Don't think I really want to know about it either.

Bleaching ginger hair.?

Hey, I'm considering bleaching my hair (with a proper kit). I have ginger hair, does anyone have any idea of how light or bright it would come out?

Cheers!

Bleaching ginger hair.?
I would have it done professionally. There is a chance it could come out orange or yellow.. and then you'll just have to pay to have it corrected anyhow. Believe me, it has happened to me...
Reply:I'm assuming when you say ginger you have red in the color. I went to platinum from an aubrn color which had red in it. It took my hair stylist a lot of work since red is the hardest to get out. It took 2 bleachs and a ton of toner, she massaged my hair for one hour with the toner and there was still some brassyness from the red. With one bleach, your hair is going to look like a calico cat. I would recommend going to a professional for this. Good luck!

Bleaching teeth. how long does it last?

i was reading up on this.

and it says it last 5-7 years?

what exactly does it mean?

*does it mean that once you reach the 5th year your teeth will still look how they did just a few weeks after the whitening but now its going to start wearing off?

*or does it mean that usually by the 5th - 7th year your teeth will be back how they were before you did that bleaching thing?

Bleaching teeth. how long does it last?
The length of time that lightening lasts depends on how it was done in the first place. What is done in a professional office it will last about 5 years. When you use the strips it will be shorter. No, they don't all of a sudden revert back. It's a slow process that actually begins the moment you stop the lightening process and begin to eat/drink. If you have custom trays, your dentist can sell you a touch up kit that is WAY cheaper [we charge $30] than having everything done all over again as long as you've kept your custom trays.

OK U SHOULD HAVE HAD USED A BLUE TUBE TO COUNTERACT THE RED SHADES U GOT WELL NOW I WOULD SAY THIS COLOR WILL NOT LIGHTEN ALL READY COLORED HAIR BUT color will color to make hair darker SO I WOULD GO DARKER THEN GO TO A SALON AND have them put in some hi lites hair designer here 20 yrs
Reply:You're just asking for trouble here.. time to go to a salon and have them fix things.

Your hair could all fall out!
Reply:The color either wont come out like you wanted it, or it will be so dead!! Thats too much processing for your hair to handle that soon, it would be best to wait unless you want to end up paying to get it all redone in a salon:)

will cause, not the color reason.

If your hair is in decent shape and you color it tomarrow

it should be fine. But make sure to deep condition it well

and all the time to prevent breakage.

If your hair is in bad shape from the lightener, wait for the

amount of time, or your hair will fall out and break off.

Good luck.
Reply:sounds terrible -see a stylist.
Reply:I would go to a professional for this one... a few years back I highlighted my hair to the max (almost white) and then RE-highlighted over it a few weeks later and my hair was breaking. The salon had to color it with special dye and then cut a bit off... but it looked a lot better. If you already messed it up, spend the extra $50 and get someone who knows what the are doing before you mess it up even more.

Plus, if you dye it OVER the orange, it might not come out the color you want due to the base being brassy and then you are S.O.L :)

Bleaching hair extensions?

i currently have black human hair clip in extensions but since im going lighter to a brownish reddish color, i'd like to have them matching my hair as well. would bleaching them and then coloring them totally damage the hair?

Bleaching hair extensions?
coloring extension hair can be done, but, if the hair isn't of excellent quality, since the extension hair is pre-colored, the hair will be a bit dry, so, deep reconstruct the hair between processes. And after recoloring, it would be advisable to condition again and then use a clear glosser to seal the cuticle and lock in the conditioning treatments. When bleaching, make sure you evenly distribute the bleach you may have to use heat to activate the bleach since bleach works with the heat from the head for processing, and if the extensions are not attached to your head, no heat, processing can be uneven if covered completely...
Reply:If it is human hair then it won't have any different reaction then the rest of your hair but since it is black you may have trouble getting the right color... I would have a cosmetologist do it.
Reply:u can dye only national hair

BLEACHING YOUR HAIR BLONDE question!?

you know how your hair goes from dark, to reddish, to copper, to yellow to light blonde?

well if you leave it in for like, 80 minutes, and it's at it's "copper/yellow" stage, should i just leave it in more so it gets blonder? or is 80 minutes too long and should i stop there? (i really don't want to fry my hair).

thanks!

p.s. if you've seen my other bleaching questions everywhere, i'm really sorry i keep posting Q's like this, i just really need good answers! thank you :)

BLEACHING YOUR HAIR BLONDE question!?
Yes just leave it in for another 10 minutes dark hair in order to be blonde has to have the lightening mixture in it for at 90 minutes if it gets lighter it is safe to leave it in for an addtional 10 minutes after 90 minutes have elapsed. However if it is still the at the copper/yellow stage after you leave in the mixture for another 10 minutes just rinse out the mixture because something wrong might have happen and wait for a couple of days before putting any more color in your hair just to give your hair some time to heal. After a couple of days have gone by you can still go blonde but do not bleach because it will damage your hair since your hair might still be at the copper yellow stage just put a regular blonde color over it. It will do wonders. What I recommend is that you do an ash base to eliminate any copper tones in your hair. The best color would be the Revlon Colorsilk #81 Light Ash Blonde it is a beautiful all over blonde that is gentle enough to use on bleached hair just leave the color 5-10 minutes longer than the package says so about 30-35 minutes and your hair will be blonde. You will be blonde regardless using the plain blonde color is just cutting corners.
Reply:depends on what bleaching agent you use i sometimes use peroxide and leave it in for like an hour and it seems to work good
Reply:if i were u i would just got to the salon because when u do home bleachin u can really F**k up ya hair...i mean u lose ur pigment and its very damagin...and i would think leavin it on for 80 minutes would kill ur hair real talk...so if i were u boo i would just go to the salon tell em u want ur hair blonde...then come home or have them dye it wateva brighter color u want...cause i asked that question last night...and i just decieded to dye it with out the bleach and it turned out pretty cool
Reply:I think your best bet would be to go to a professional and have it done the first time. As you can really do damage not only to your hair (breakage, etc.) you can also harm your scalp with sores and blisters if you leave the lightening agent on too long. To be on the safe side see a professional and let them take you through the steps. It may save you the cost of doctor bills, or the price of a good hair piece in the future.
Reply:I am a licensed professional hairstylist and salon owner and I tell my clients never attempt anything at home, because when you come see me to fix it it will not only cost you more but it cost more life stripped out of your hair. Going from black to blond is a gradual stage. You should ABSOLUTELY NOT attempt this in one day. Your hair will defiantly all fall out if it doesn't turn into one big mesh ball of slimy, ratty hair.
Reply:You know, you really do need to have the professionals help you with this one. Your hair has sooo much red pigment in it that it has to be bleached several times before it reaches the right level. Leaving the bleach (whatever you use) on more than 80 mins. could blister your scalp and other horrors. Also , this will be a very expensive procedure. Your out-growth will show up in as little as 2 wks. (cause it's dark) Do you really want to go through the expense of touchups? What the salon will probably do is several bleach applications, to the pale yellow stage, and then put a toner (which washes out soon) on. which will be a blonde color of your choice. However, like I said , this is something that means touchups , and expense. Are you ready for that?
Reply:I am a Hair Designer and I cant emphasize enough, you need to go to a professional Hair Designer who specializes in color.
Reply:honestly i've tried it and i advice u not to! it will really damage ur hair ! u can start by doing highlights , blonde, then after lets say month add some more and so on till ur hair is all blonde
Reply:um lol i think i said red was the hardest to get out..or that might have been another question..i unno..but..ur hair was going to get damaged by bleaching it anyways. %26amp; if that is u in ur picture you have black hair..%26amp; usually when ppl have dark hair like that it is like impossible to do that. should have just taken smaller sections of hair n applied the bleach like that. evverytime i have bleached i have put a diff shade of blonde over it bc it hardly is ever one solid color after bleaching.i would take it off if i were u. i have never left it on past 50 min.just put a color over it or..wash it off n take small sections %26amp; make sure the bleach doesnt get all over the hair that has been bleached. wether u try it today or tomorrow it doesnt matter.ur hair is gonna be damaged either way.

Bleaching black hair?

Ok so I plan on bleaching my black hair. Andd lets say it turns orange.

then if I dyed it a dark brown will it turn out?

Bleaching black hair?
I did this same thing like a week ago. I dyed my hair black a while back and didn't like it so tryed to fade it. When it started fading it was blueish grey. I bleached it and it turned orange and yellow and my roots were white. I got a semi permanent light golden brown at the advice of sally's and it didn't cover it at all. It was still orange. I have also in the past stripped a dark color from my hair with similar results. The only way to cover it is a very dark, almost black semi permanent color. I really hate going to salons but I ended up having to and my hair had to be colored back dark with semi permanent and gradually highlighted to a lighter color.

I know it is possible to strip or bleach black out at home but I have never had any luck!
Reply:hOW WOULD I get rid of my balack hair i juss

Dyed it and i want to bleach it!.. Report It

Reply:no matter what, when working with very dark hair, get it done by a PROFESSIONAL. Besides that, be careful because your hair could break quite easily. The color may turn out, but it could easily go terribly wrong.
Reply:I personally dont think you should bleach it...maybe try highlights =)
Reply:If you do plan on bleaching, I think a professional would advise against it. But, if you still want to do it, you should not put dye on top of it, because your hair will be over processed and damaged.

If it does get damaged, you will have to cut it all off, because it may start falling out...basically you'll have to grow it out and start over!

I'm in favor of trying highlights...like using some reds.
Reply:If you would like to bleach your hair when you have black hair I would say the only choice you have is to see a hair stylist and let him/her do it.

I have had my expirence and it was not so good:

Before I was a hairstylist I went to target and bought hair dye. I had medium brown hair already. So I was careless and bought the package and when I applyed it my hair turned out orange! It just was horrible!

If you want to go buy the package and have it turn out orange. Then mabey you should also get another package of the color you actually want to have.Because orange will turn out the color you want.

Hope this helps!

Bleaching a preschoolers unwanted hair?

My little girl is three and truly beautiful, inside and out. I'm getting a bit concerned though, because she has a light brown colored monobrow and dark hair on her back and legs. I'm thinking about bleaching it over the summer, but I'm worried that I'm doing it too early in her little life. Is it okay to start before it bothers HER and the teasing starts?

And suggestions on what products would be best?

Thanks

Bleaching a preschoolers unwanted hair?
I think that you should wait until it bothers her. Kids that age aren't concerned with stuff like that. If you start changing her appearance now she might begin to feel like there's something wrong with her. If a couple years from now she mentions it then maybe do something about it, but I think that three is too young.
Reply:dont bleach it it will irritate her instead buy some "SUN IN" and use a blow dryer on low the heat activates the lightening agent it isnt as rough as bleach alone - and yes I do find this weird a preschooler is way to young to have these issues but if u must..
Reply:if it doesn't bother the girl, why do it? pluck the brow, but don't bleach her!
Reply:Who does it bother Her or YOU? Leave her alone, focus on other things about her besides her looks. Everyone gets teased for something. Get over it.
Reply:Absolutely not! Don't bleach her hair! I'm saying this from experience, I'm 19 and I was (still am) a hairy baby. Leave on her. Eventually, yes, she may hate it. But when she's older she'll be proud to be different. Believe me...I am! She might feel more comfortable in herself too, if she can believe that she's beautiful not DESPITE the hair - but WITH the hair.
Reply:this is a pretty touchy subject. i think that is for your daughter to decide though. she might be 3 but you dont need to have a cause for concern until there is a problem. if she isnt being teased yet for her uniqueness then there is no need to bleach her unwanted hair, but if it starts to be a burden in her life and is affecting the way she interacts with others then it might be help. just dont make any rash desicions before you know for a fact that it is the right time. just use your motherly instincts, and hey if your wrong it happens. just be happy you learned from your mistake. good luck to you and your daughter :]
Reply:you will give your daughter a complex if you start bleaching leave her alone tell her she is beutifull and not to care what people think or say if you bring up something like this to her you will make her feel like she really has a bad thing wrong with her and she is too young to have to worry what people think about her let her be a kid while she can , i would never put my kids threw the bleaching or anything like it just because i was a fraid of what people might say , if they say something your her mother stand up for her
Reply:By all means, I suggest you DO bleach her hair and pluck those undesirable eyebrows. Three years old is the perfect age for your daughter to start learning that her mother values her for her external beauty, and that the world cannot accept any physical imperfections. You may also want to start enlisting your daughter into children's beauty pageants. Have her aspire to become the next Jon-Benet Ramsey! Your daughter will learn the valuable lesson that she can't receive your love %26amp; approval until she has perfected her outward beauty to your liking.

You're a good mom ... Why can't all mother's learn from you?
Reply:You could always let the sun bleach the hair for you. It's way safer than chemicals and as long as she has sunscreen on. A little fun in the sun will do her wonders. Her hair will lighten on it's own. Even if it is brown. My hair is brown and when I was little it went blonde due to being outside in the sun so much.

Teeth whitening vs bleaching?

What are the difference between teeth whtiening and bleaching?

For the following, please answer for whitening and bleaching:

1) How long does it last?

2) How often do I need to get it done from the dentist?

3) Do I have to use certain aftercare products, or can I use regular (Crest) to brush?

4) How much does it cost?

Teeth whitening vs bleaching?
6 months-1yr(some ppl only need it once wit proper care)

2 times a yr(or less if u take proper care)

no crest n brush

50-250
Reply:there is no difference whitening and bleaching mean the same. There are now many different methods both in office and at home. length of time depends on home care and habits for example teeth are stained by coffee, tea , wine grape juice, cigarettes, etc. If you want a fast dramatic result go to your dentist. the at home products work fairly well especially if your teeth are in good shape and well aligned.

Cost varies at home $25.00 to $50.00 in office $175.00 to $450.00

Bleaching hair?

does anyone know any home bleaching recipes for hair.

Bleaching hair?
I would not do it your self if i was you ..it can turn all different colors like orange and a redish tint / color ! Seriously if you want to do something like this go to your local hair salon! Or you could call your local hair salon and ask them for tips because you don't have the money for them !! I would not listen to people on yahoo answers for ideas because they could give you the wrong idea and you will screw your hair up ! Hope this helps and hope you take my advice ! Good luck !
Reply:peroxide, but i would not reccomend it
Reply:recipes lol. Go to a hair dresser. Trust me. If you try and scrimp it'll show
Reply:,,,chlorox and baking soda into a paste ...for highlites,...but its all damaging.
Reply:there are no home remedies for bleaching hair, that would be safe for your hair. To cut the cost of salons go to a beauty supply and get it and do it yourself, will be cheaper.

Recomendations for hair bleaching products???

I'm a brunette and I have very dark hair. I was thinking of buying a hair bleaching product. One of the products I looked up was called Jolen creme bleach. Most people said It was pretty good but I'm still unsure if I should get it or not. Has anyone tried it or does anyone have other suggestions?

Recomendations for hair bleaching products???
Jolen is for facial hair bleaching

AND IT WORKS GREAT!
Reply:I would have a proffessional do it otherwise it looks really ad
Reply:you should go to the beauty shop and let them color your hair the proper way
Reply:Jolen is for bleaching FACIAL hair, like a mustache. DO NOT use it on your hair on your head!! If you have very dark hair I would strongly suggest having a professional do it. You could really mess it up if you try it yourself. It's got to be done right on dark hair or it'll turn out orange. Seriously, go to a salon!!
Reply:Find a salon that you can afford. You may not have to bleach, you may be able to get an effect you want with just color. The stylist should have some great ideas or you can look at pic's together and come up with a plan. Jolen is NOT meant for your hair on your head.
Reply:Like they have all said go to a hair stylist, it may cost about $180 or more depending on the place and your hair. You really do not want to dye your hair on your own, believe me I tried dying my hair blue....I used up all the bleach and my hair still wasn't pale blonde and after using color there was a streak of blue in my hair but the rest was green and orange dark yellow. Needless to say I caused more attention to myself than I originally planned to.
Reply:I had a friend who used to bleach her dark brown hair all over and her hair looked like straw and was really fake looking. I would see a professional or try only dying the top part.
Reply:Special effects for sure. It's the best bleach there is. Since you have very dark hair, use the 40 volume. It also conditions your hair and doesn't dry it out.

Im planning on bleaching my hair...?

Right now my hair is dyed black and im planning on bleaching it out within the next 2 months so i can dye it a different color, what are some good products that i can use before and after i bleach to make my hair stronger and not as brittle?

Im planning on bleaching my hair...?
If you know it's going to damage your hair then why would you want to do that still??

And Once you bleach your hair and try and dye it a different color that would be Too Much Chemicals for your hair plus the color will always fade Back to White Bleach Blonde..

You should just go to a Pro hairdresser...I used to dye my hair with boxed hair dye and now I'd never make that mistake again so you just shouldn't do iteither unless you want to fcuk your hair up ♥
Reply:either way, a bleach is harmful to your hair. when you dye your hair black, you can't go lighter after that, you will have to bleach. The bleaching kit that I know will take all the black out is"manic panic bleaching kit" Just make sure you do restore treatments to restore your hair and breakage treatments.
Reply:Tiff, black is the most difficult color to remove from your hair. Have a professional colorist strip the color out of your hair. He or she will condition your hair, strip it, then condition it again. I also recommend you have the hairdresser help you tint your hair to the new color for the best results. An experienced professional can do wonderful things for your hair.

There are no products on the retail market I can recommend for used at home.

What color streaks? Bleaching but what color?

http://img207.imageshack.us/my.php?image...

So that's me currently. As you can see, my hair has faded and it's been quite hard to maintain anyways. I have roots growing out because it's so different from my light brown hair that I started with. Yet the woman who dyed my hair got my "baby hairs" and they're super red. The super bright red looked good on me but I want to go to dark brown now. I'm getting that done professionally and bleaching/adding colored streaks myself. I'm trying to decide what color though...I don't want blonde or anything tame, I like pink and blue together, should I do two colors or one?

Sorry for this long thing but:

1. Where can I get bleach? Hot Topic/Target/where?

2. I want to do it myself, do the colors at Hot Topic work nicely? Do they have any permanent ones or are they just semi?

3. What colors would look best in dark brown hair?

4. Can you find me pictures to display how I should do it?

Thank so much! Pictures would be GREAT!

What color streaks? Bleaching but what color?
well you if you want to get really good hair color that stays a long time you should find a Sally's Beauty Supply store nearby they have bleach and dye colors like green, pink, blue, etc. i think if you dye your hair back to a dark brown, hot pink streaks would look good. Dont put dark on dark like dark blue on dark brown hair put a color that pops and is easy to notice. go to www.sallybeauty.com
Reply:Please, please please get the bleaching done professionally. It's so easy to wreck your hair and it looks like it's in great condition at the moment. I speak as someone currently going white-blonde at a salon, it's VERY expensive and my hair is pretty darn dry.

Dark brown hair could look great with some purpley tones through it, or even some white blonde highlights through it.

Just let the professionals help!

Bleaching hair damage?

Is there a difference between the level of damage caused by red hair dye and bleaching it blonde? Is one more damaging, or is it the same?

Bleaching hair damage?
If you use a semi colour it wont do very much damage at all.

It depends on what shade red you want to go to the amount of developer you need to use.

The higher the strength of developer the more damage will occur.

You will more than likely use a higher strength developer for blonde hair thus being the one that will cause more damage.

Developer= the product that is mixed in with the colour or bleach.
Reply:bleaching causes a lot more damage to hair then regular dying. unless you have healthy hair, it can really ruin it, so be careful and don't use cheap brands.
Reply:Any way of coloring your hair will damage it. The level of damage has nothing to do with its color. Whether you dye it black, brown, red, or blonde...it will all have a negative impact on your hair. All coloring will cause breakage, dryness, and brittleness. Everyone does it, just make sure to visit a salon or do at home treatments to prevent this. Heat styling tools are not recommended. The less you use them, the better! Good luck, and I hope this helps!

♥♥
Reply:bleaching it blonde and when you do that forget about a different color after the blonde because whatever you put on it eventually fades out and you see the blonde again, I tried it and know, lol..

But I love my blonde highlights and just cant get rid of them totally anyway..

And if you do the blonde always use a leave in conditioner after washing because that helps it from drying out more..
Reply:I think bleach is wose (but it looks nice) and it is being said that it kills brain cells and bleached blondes usally are "Dumb Blondes" since it kills brain cells

dye is also bad sinse it is still doing a number to your hair

but despite that i love people who bleach/dye thier hair
Reply:Aubrey honey r u a hairdresser? bleaching is a two step process cause u use two chemicals on your hair and red doesn't lighten hair. i was a hairdresser so i know so either one can be damaging if not done properly
Reply:I have very dark brown hair. I have gone both ways: blonde and red. Blonde caused the most damage. (Red washes out faster than blonde dye).
Reply:to get it red you only have to lift to the level of red your trying to get

blonde is more levels of lift, so requires higher volume peroxide and boosters, I have a black friend who uses bleach that would melt my hair, but gets hers blonde

what shade red are you going for?

Punky Color and Manic Panic will stain natural virgin hair with no peroxide color, if you want intense color you'll have to bleach it first, if you want subtle maybe try henna with no peroxide
Reply:it depends on what process you go thru to get there. If your hair is super dark, do you have to bleach it first to get a more vibrant red? But just using reg. red hair color shouldn't be damaging at all. Bleach is a whole different thing, it is more "damaging" to the hair, but when done by a professional you don't have to worry about that really-if the process is going to fry your hair then a good stylist will recommend you not do it-but if your hair is in good condition for it then...

--just keep in mind that any non-professional products bought in the grocery store are damaging reguardless...in order for the product to be able to work on a more wide spectrum of hair they put a super high volume of peroxide in it that may be totally unnecessary for your hair. --
Reply:bleaching does damage ur hair it makes it drier

Serious question! Anal bleaching?

Who has done it? Has anyone had any success using skin lightening/bleaching cream at home? How long does it take to see a difference? Guys, do you like it better natural, or bleached? Which is more attractive?

Serious question! Anal bleaching?
I think if it is really discolored it would help to bleach it. I don't think that it is necessary for most people. But if I had to pick I would say bleached is more attractive. I heard you only have to do it once and it should stay that way permanently.
Reply:You are a moron
Reply:You said serious question. I have one for that...WHY???? Seriously...why would you even consider that??? Are you considering a career in the porn industry????

Bleaching Creams - Asian + White + SouthEast Asian - Male :: 16?
Don't bother. It can cause uneven pigment and is very harsh on your skin. Besides you will have to use a lot of it in order to try and get even results. But they don't work 1/2 as well as they show. And can get horrific results. Many countries don't even allow them to be sold because of the chemicals in them. Don't bother, be happy with who you are. Isn't it interesting tha tmost people who have a light skin tone go tanning and use self tanners to look darker yet. And here you are wanting to be lighter. Be happy with who you are, be proud.
Reply:why do you want to go white?

Be proud of your colour and be happy with yourself from within
Reply:I think it wont give really good effects..

Why wont u try glutathione supplements.. It would give u clearer results.. It isnt just whitening it also has vitamin C for stronger body..

see the effects of glutathione as you research it in the yaHoo...

Reply:Change your eyes to blue or green make your complextion look like a nice tan. When you have brown eyes and dark skin it makes your skin look even darker. If you have black hair, and are bleaching it, how long do you keep the bleach in?

So I'm dying my friends hair, and her hair is a dark, dark, brown color.. And I'm bleaching it. So how long do you think we have to wait to get it to turn bleach, bleach, blond?

If you have black hair, and are bleaching it, how long do you keep the bleach in?
just leave it till the bleach isn't working anymore. you'll probably have to reapply qiute a few times. you really should go to a salon tho. also, try on some wigs so you can describe the blonde you're thinking of. terms like warm/ cool make all the difference in blonde.
Reply:DONT! such a drastic colour change needs to b done in a salon,u have been warned! lol
Reply:Please go to a professional.
Reply:Not a good idea ... you can't go from dark to bleach blond! It would really damage the hair. If she really wants what won't work anyways (I used to have black hair, it took me about half a year to get light blond) she should get it done in a hairsalon. If you do it you would screw up her hair really bad .... If you put the bleach on her hair she will have orange hair!
Reply:Okay, bleaching it from black to blonde is very harsh on your hair, but what color isnt?

just leave it on until you see the color your satisfied with, then rinse it out=]
Reply:Don't bleach it, first of all it might really damage your hair and second BLACK HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL. dont change it,

Bleaching hair wait time?

I am bleaching my black hair with clairol blonde maxi and i have black hair I was wondering what is a normal wait time to wait till its to a blonde enough color to dye a med brown? I know a lot of people are going to say go to a salon or whatever but the thing is I am doing it right now so any feedback would be great... I also know its going to take a while because of the color stages it has to go through but besides that how long could it take or will it take? Any feedback would be great though thanks

Bleaching hair wait time?
should check first what peroxide percentage used. the higher the percentage, the faster it lightens the hair (max 12%). check the development of the degree of lightening after 10 mins, inital. if u still want it lighter then wait for another 10-15 mins. it depends on how lighter u want it to be. dont exceed 30 mins or so that can damage the hair. goodluck!
Reply:You shoudl wait about 25 minutes maybe even 30.
Reply:seriously it all depends on what type of hair u have
Reply:if you are going to a medium brown, then you want to wait until your hair is light orange. That is the right underlying pigment for that level of haircolor. On the color scale from 1(black) to 10 (light blonde) I'm guessing you are going for about a level 6?

The heat from your scalp will cause the root area to get lighter than the ends (heat accelerates the process). What color are you using after bleaching?

I need info on skin bleaching......!!!!?
Bleach creams lightens the color of your facial hair making your skin appear brighter and even-toned.

Bleaching can be done safely once in a while...like may be once in 3 months or so...the less the better.

if you are allergic to some products..better that you do a patch test of bleach cream on your hand or arm..24 hrs before the actual application on face.

From my personal experience i have found bleaching to be very irritating when i have a dry skin or pimples or any other broken skin condition.. so you should let your skin heal completely before bleaching.

if you have a normal skin with no break up etc then bleaching does not hurt.. you only feel a tingling/itchy/slight burning feeling during the first 5-6 mins with no red marks after wards.. you will get bad looking red marks only if your skin is broken or have dry patches.

in any case bleaching DOES NOT make a person fairer...it only evens out the tone of your skin 2-3 weeks..and make your skin glow for a week..

hope that helps.
Reply:Why would you want to bleach your skin? I bought some lightning creme for some hyperpigmentation I got from a TCA peel from Sallys for 4.99 It works well but I dont think I would want to use it on my entire face
Reply:I am not an expert, perhaps you should direct your question directly to Michael Jackson himself.
Reply:Why would you want to do such a thing? Be glad with the way you look. I know that in some areas of the world its cool to look lighter to stand out more, but on the other side of the world from them there are people who are trying to look darker. I guess what I am trying to get at is be happy with the things you cant change (so skin tone, eye color, hight).

Some one will think you are beautiful the way you are. Why ruin it for them?

Bleaching my hair to a gold color, but my hair is black, and I need to perm it, Scared I might damage my hair?

I'm black and indian, but my hair shows most features of relaxed hair, well I need a perm urgent! and I also want to dye it. I dotn know if it's safe to dye it first then bleach it or bleach it first then dye it. Im not really the best when it comes to knowing about bleaching and dying hair and all that stuff. I also want to dye it light enough so that if I want to dye it red or pink or cool colors it will show up. I plan on dying it without the help of a salon so what do you think? And do you think my hair will gert damaged badly?

Bleaching my hair to a gold color, but my hair is black, and I need to perm it, Scared I might damage my hair?
I don't know much about relaxed hair. I know if you try to bleach your hair from black to blond, you are stripping your hair of its natural color and i can be very damaging. Your hair will feel like its been fried. Suggest you don't do it that way, but to dye your hair lighter overtime. Go a little lighter this time and then next time go a little more lighter. Long process but at least you won't end up with fried hair.
Reply:Don't dye and perm your hair.. it's too damaging for your hair.. I get my hair permed and I take really good care of it so it doesn't get dried out or anything... the same goes for dying too..
Reply:yeah youre hair will fall out if not in good condition first get it semi dye it might work a little but theres no chemicals tell me if it works
Reply:I would absolutely recommend going to a stylist. Perm and lighteners can *sometimes* be performed on the same head of hair, but it will take a specialist in the field to truly access what your hair can reasonably withstand, and gentler products will need to be applied. Your hair type in particular is tricky, and unless extreme care and a stylist knowledgeable with your hair type are utilized, your chances of hair breakage are extremely high. I know this sounds very costly, but the cost of repairing damaged hair to a point of it looking acceptable generally runs higher. I think it would be a very wise investment in the long run, and will save you a lot of grief in the end. Also, have you ever considered clip in swatches of pink or red? This may be a great option that will not only save you a lot of money in the long run, but completely eliminate the need to have an unnecessary chemical service which is questionable to the health of your hair.

Bleaching hair?

how bad is it to bleach your hair? to get the lightness you want, how many times do you have to do it and do you have to wait inbetween each bleaching? if you use intensive conditioner will your hair stay at the same level of health??

I'd like to know your views on bleaching hair and from personal experiences?? As i am thinking of doing it next week? x ty (:

PS. SUN IN IS A PEICE OF ****.

Bleaching hair?
WELL, TECHNICALY, IT IS NOT GOOD TO BLEACH YOUR HAIR BECAUSE OF YOUR SCALP. IT IS LIKE PUTTING BLEACH ON YOUR SKIN. IF YOU DO THIS FOR A YEAR, YOUR SCALP WOULD BE ABSOLUTLEY FRIED. I THINK YOU SHUOLD RATHER USE ONE OF THOSE INHANCING SHAMPOOS THAT MAKES YOUR HAIR BRIGHTER.

PLEASE, DON'T BLEACH YOUR HAIR, YOU CAN MESS UP YOUR HEAD, AND I KNOW YOU DON'T WANT THAT. HOPE THIS HELPS! :^)
Reply:no clue never done it before
Reply:well my hair didnt get damaged from bleaching it and u only hav to do it once just dont keep it in ur hair for to long
Reply:dont do it. my friend bleached her hair and it turned out horrible. and plus it dries your hair out so much,
Reply:sun in works. bleaching ruins your hair....

GO TO THE BEACH AND USE SUN IN LEMON, DONT USE IT AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:well any colour will do damage no matter how much cponditioner you will slap on as bleeching takes out all the colour pigment of your hair i bleeched my hair and it had split ends and was in terrible state if i was you i would get some light streaks put in first see how you like it but be careful as bleecing can cause candyfloss hair
Reply:its didn't damage mine but i don't do it anymore. i just put lemon in my hair so its gets lighter
Reply:i know someone who did it and their hair got totally fried!!! and they said it hurt their head really bad too
Reply:well first off you should only need to bleach once to get any shade you want. If you do it right and with the right stuff it takes one time. Its quite dammaging but you just condition alot and take good care of your hair and its good. My hair is bleached and i have wayyy better hair then alot of girls i know.

If you are going to do it pls message me i will tell you what to buy and how to do it and such since bleach is quite harsh its reallllllyyy bad when you mess up. Plus most ppl think that if you go buy a box of color that has a blonde girl on it that it is bleach - its not. Alot of ppl dont know the diffrence between blue and violet bleach or what developer to use or what pretreatments and posttreatments to use.
Reply:bleach - just like hair dye, is bad for anybody's hair..

but I say just get it done once in a while (don't overdo it!)lol.

(I'm going to be bleaching my hair at the hairstylist..)

I've heard it takes a couple times for very dark hair to be bleached, because it turns out ORANGE..

so if you have dark or almost blackish hair, it'll take a couple times, but if you have lighter hair, maybe once or 2 timesish??

x

good luck!
Reply:its not gonna hurt your hair badly if you're not using it over and over and over again repeatedly

as long as you're taking care of your hair and following instructions, your hair will be beautiful and just how you want it! (=
Reply:Get a professional to do it honey.. It's worth the extra money. your hair could turn out orange by doing it at home..And it's gonna get damaged. no intensive conditioner will help you now.
Reply:THATS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE ULL EVER MAKE, I DID IT WHILE I WAS IN HAIR SCHOOL N MY HAIR IS EXTREMEMLY DRY, NO MATTER HOW MUCH CONDITIONING UR HAIR WILL NOT BE THE SAME, TRUST ME. IT WILL BE STRINGY, IM IN THE PROCESS OF LETTING IT GROW OUT AND CUTTIN ABOUT 2 INCHES OSS EVERY FEW MONTHS TO TAKE OFF ALL DRY HAIR
Reply:It really does depend on how dark your hair is. If you have really dark hair I would suggest going to a light brown color and then have highlights put in over the top. It will look more natural then straight blonde if your naturally dark. If you plan on doing it yourself, using an old fashion frosting cap is much easier to handle on your own then trying to put in foils.

I was a cosmetologist for a long time and it's hard to recommend someone to do it themselves at home. There are so many things that can go wrong. IF you are bound and determined to do it yourself, please have someone there with you to help.

IF you find that you get to an orange or yellowish color and can't get past it, remember the color wheel you learned about in art class. When you choose a color to put over it, you're looking for the opposite undertones to counteract the oranginess. (Blue - Orange, Violet- Yellow) if you mix them up, you can end up with green hair.

ALSO!!! IF you have already used SUN IN in your hair, I would NOT bleach your hair anytime soon. I would consider getting a Demi color to put over the top and forget bleaching for awhile.
Reply:my parents used to have a hairdressing business. and from having my hair dyed quite a few times. i would only recommend dying it once. then putting a high lightener on it 2 weeks later. other wise believe me. if you keep dying it will drop out and you will end up with baled patches.

How much damage does bleaching hair do?

My girlfriend dyed my hair black earlier this week, and my father doesn't approve of it. He thinks I'm a satanist, or I resemble one now. So in order to lift my grounding, I need to dye it back or a lighter color. In order to get the black out I need to bleach it, but how much damage will bleaching do? My hair is shiney, healthy. It was only dyed once, by my girlfriend. It's practically passed my shoulders, but people have always said that long hair looks better on me than short hair.

I plan on bleaching it, and then dyeing it a medium blonde.

What can I expect?

Thanks

How much damage does bleaching hair do?
Do not bleach your hair yourself. Black dye is very hard to remove. If you bleach it, chances are it will not be an even color...your hair will be a mix of red, blond, and black. Bleach damages hair pretty bad. Your hair will be dry and brittle, or, even worse, it may become yellow and "sticky" and impossible to comb.

I've been there. It has taken seven bleach jobs, numerous bottles of heavy conditioner, cholesterol, hot oil, toner, dye, and two drastic hair cuts to remove the black dye and get my hair back in condition.

Try washing your hair with a "strong" shampoo, like Prell. It could remove some of the dye, so you can dye it a lighter, *brown* shade. If that doesn't work, see a professional. It will be costly, but way better than risking it yourself.
Reply:Bleaching hair does make it dry and coarse. As long as you keep using a good conditioner your hair should be just fine.
Reply:It's very damaging, but if you go to a professional, they will know how to do it in the least damaging way.......I would not attempt that at home for anything.....
Reply:it does damage your hair
Reply:Well, I bleach mine and have constant split ends, but besides that, it is not going to make all of it fall out or anything
Reply:Going from Black to Blonde might turn it Green, I would definitely go to a Professional if possible. Bleaching ruins the elacticity in your hair and therefore it gets brittle and can break off easier. Let me know how it turns out, if possible!

Hair loss do to bleaching...HELP?!!?

I went to a hair stylist about 3 years ago. I wanted a certain style and color. Well when it came to the bleaching part of the hair style. Everything went bad. I was sitting there under the dryer when my scalp started hurting severly. I felt it doing something and when I touched the plastic covering my head, I could feel the bleach bubbling. So literally it was boiling on my head. When we got done. My scalp was scabed and messed up. Most of the hair was fryed to about one inch if that and I had medium hair length at the time. So it was a big diifference in the length. I have always had healthy strong hair until this point. Now I have a thinning problem, just on the portion of my hair that was bleached and my scalp has never fully recovered. I could kick myself in the butt for not going back and getting something done. What can I do to help the thinning hair grow back and be thick like it used to be? and help my scalp get healthy at the same time? Is there a product anyone suggest?

Hair loss do to bleaching...HELP?!!?
If you found some sort of miracle grow for hair, you could make a fortune off of it. Right now there is not a reliable product out there. I suppose you could try Rogaine or something of the sort, but you probably won't have any luck. I hate to burst a bubble of hope, but I'm just realistic. The scar tissue on your head is probably preventing the hair from growing, if the hair follicle is even still intact. It sounds like your bleach job was more like a chemical electrolysis.
Reply:well maybe go to a dermatologist so u can get ur scalp back to being healthy and i guess conditioners ans stuff ur going to have to grow it out best of luck and i been through a similar situation so i feel ur pain

Black women and Skin bleaching?

Why do black women bleach their skin? Is it because they want to think it will better their chances in society? Is it because they think the black skin colour is not as appealing as the white? I'm not talking about skin texturizers, often use to remove discoloration (burns, spots). Lately there is an increased number of cancer-cases relating to sking bleaching. Where did the need to bleach ones skin came from?

Black women and Skin bleaching?
You know what, ive been thinking exactly the same thing. I dont get it. People should be happy as they are.
Reply:I know a lot of African women bleach their skin. It kind of bothers me because we are strong women and we need to be proud of our skin color and heritage. It's funny because white women and men spend thousands on tanning to be darker and black and African women spend thousands on bleaching to be lighter. I guess it's just an internal issue that manifests because of the media's perception of beauty.
Reply:Most of the time it has to do with the effects of acne. When a Black woman experiences acne and gets blackheads usually they'll need a product like Ambi or another fading cream to eliminate those dark spots. But then you do have some that use it to make themselves lighter.

Look at BET videos and look at they type of women that Black men fall over (ie. Beyonce, Halle Berry) to understand why some women want to make themselves lighter.

To each her own.
Reply:i was not aware that black women were doing this. i am light skinned and i have always told people to be happy with their selves. i know a lot of girls who try so hard to be beyonce these days, its crazy. they actually go the distance as to getting their hair done like her and always, say....i look like beyonce dont i? I didn't know they were going this far with it. wow. that is saddening to know
Reply:not everybody is the same.. each of us has his/her own needs and wants.. the perspective on skin bleaching is similar to any skin care regimen one prefers.. whether it's antiacne, antiaging, hair dyeing, skin tanning or skin bleaching, they're all inclined on the same goals - better self esteem, aesthetic preferences or to correct a problem.. so there's actually nothing wrong with it.

my 2 cents. :-)
Reply:It's media crap feeding into the human subconscious. The best thing YOU can do is resist and keep holding on to what is YOU. Even if u feel alone at times - it is better to be aware then be another sheep in the herd. Ignorance is bliss but knowledge is power.
Reply:many balack women bleach their skin because in some parts of the world like brazil the lighter your skin tone the better your chances of being popular in society and also the lighter your skin colour for some strange reason the more attractive you are.

in india the poorest people are usually the darker skinned people. personaly i am of seychellois and ghanian descent and my skin colour is a cross between dark olive and light brown
Reply:Why judge? It's ok for a person to color their hair, stylize themselves with ink and peircings? It's a tad bit hypocritical to say that stylizing your skin is bad or good when the need to do it is the same as other body modifications.. -cough, breast augmentation.

HELP hair bleaching gone wrong!?

ok this is what happend...My sister had died her hair purple (a dark purple) *her natural hair colour is dark brown* and she wanted blonde hair. So we bleached it. well after bleaching it her roots went blonde but the rest of it went red. It looks like a fire *i think it looks kinda cool but its not my head* she hates it! and she wants it to be blonde. Dose anyone know how we can get the red out of her hair...she dosent care how we do it but i dont want to fry her hair..

PLEASE HELP!!!

HELP hair bleaching gone wrong!?
GO TO A PROFESSIONAL HAIR STYLIST IMMEDIATELY!! they can dye your hair with products they know will work and give u good tips. until then, i would recomend a hat
Reply:Okay, the reason her roots went Blondie is because they were new growth with no color on them. How long was it between the color and the bleach? If it hasn't been 2 weeks then she will need to wait that long before doing anything to it. How does her hair feel? Is it dry, really soft, I mean spaghetti noodle soft. If it is either one of these then we want to keep the bleach off of it for at least six months, and tell her to get trims every 2 weeks during that six months. There are alto of treatments out there but the cold hard truth is if those ends are real damaged then cut it off is the only way to get rid of it. To get rid of the red you can get a semi-permanent color to cover it with and I still want promise you anything, but most the time it will cover it but you will have to put a dark brown over it to get it to cover. And then if the hair isn't damaged you can do the highlights like a cap frost and just do little streaks to kind of lighten it up Little, but I wouldn't do all over bleach at this time. You can do both of these in the same day because it is semi- permanent. It is very important that you make sure you use semi-permanent color. Other wise your gonna burn her hair up. Do this and like I said leave it along for a while. and let that color come off some.
Reply:she definetly needs to be seen by a professional hairstylist. this is the worse thing that could happen. the red dye will not come out because the base to the purple hair dye is red. I've had the same problem only my hair turned carnation pink then I tried stripping the color out and it turned white it was horrible I had to shave my hair down to a low buzz and wait for it to grow back.
Reply:Hmmm....If she's wild enough to dye it purple, cut it short so only the blonde is left, then dye it blonde. (HAHAHAHAHAHA) No more purple!

What does bleaching do to ur hair?

because i was thinking about dye my black hair brown and my mom said they have bleach it.

So wha does bleaching do to ur hair?

in the future will it fall out?

Thanx!

What does bleaching do to ur hair?
NO you don't have to bleach it.

Bleach is really strong, it damages your hair a lot.

It will fall out no matter what you do to it, but yeah I guess it'll fall out more if you bleach it.
Reply:she's right. first you need to strip the dark color from the hair shaft and then redeposit the new color on to it. pretty simple if you know how. bleaching if done with proper care is a bit hard on your hair and will require a great conditioner afterward. just be very careful at you tender roots, they can break at that point. need more help, ask
Reply:lifts your hair color make it lighter may turn it brown or blonde
