Does bleaching body hair cause the hair to grow back thicker?

I was warned that once you bleach your body hair you have to continue doing it (which I don't mind) and it grows back thicker (which I do mind). Any body got some input on this? Also this is my first time, does anyone have any suggestions on what the best/easiest product for body hair bleaching is? Thanks for the help.

Does bleaching body hair cause the hair to grow back thicker?
No, plus body hair doesn't continue to grow unless you shave or wax. If you don't they will not grow again and you will no need to bleach again. Bleach is great to conceal body hair, so after doing so you should have no need to remove the hair. Off course, if talking about legs, armpits, and bikini area, always remove).
Reply:i don't think so

but i heard it dries out your hair..
Reply:i dont think it will grow back thicker, thats if you shave it. (yuck! who would want to shave their arms?) it will just turn it blonde. but the easiest way to go is hydrogen peroxide. you probably already have it in your house for cleaning cuts. but if you dont, you can find it at your local drugstore or walmart.
Reply:Well if you bleach the hair you aren't getting rid of it, just temporarily hiding it. There are plenty of products to bleach with, try something from Sally Hansen.
Reply:Think about it: When you bleach hair on your head, does it grow back thicker? Nope. You're not getting rid of the hair, just coloring it, and coloring/bleaching it has no affect on rate of growth.
Reply:I don't find that to be true. the only way hair is going to grow in thicker is when you shave something b/c you are just cutting the hair off %26amp; not taking it out of the follicle. so bleaching should not have any effect on growing back thicker %26amp; darker. i would go with waxing instead of bleaching bc the hair doesnt grow back as much %26amp; it does get thinner; if the hair isn't coarse %26amp; really dark in that case it would take longer. so to answer your question...no you dont have to continue to do it. once its bleached its bleaches unless it grows/waxed/shaved then u have to do it again yes.
Reply:it wont grow thicker it just litens
Reply:Body hair bleaching just lightens the hair. Coarse hair only "grows back coarse" because the ends of the hairs are made blunt. See, when hair grows for the first time it is tapered at the end and gives the illusion of a thinner hair. Cutting the hair at the base makes the hairs look thicker when it grows in.

So bleaching won't actually make it grow back thicker, and technically shaving won't either.

Also nair has some great ones, made for special areas of the body, and they seem easy to use. you can just pick up at a drugstore
Reply:No but people think it does because darker body hair tends to look thicker and the contrast of dark hair on lighter skin makes it appear longer and fuller. But no, that is a old wives tale. I dont know any good bleaching kits to use. Hope this has helped. ~God Bless~
Reply:i bleach the darkish hair on my upper lip [ew, gross i know], and its complety fine, it stings a little when its being bleached though.

good luck. :]
