Does bleaching hair definitely cause baldness?

I've been bleaching my hair since about August (last year) now not all of my hair but about half (similar to a stripe in the middle I suppose) The rest is dark brown, I think I've bleached it three times in total.

Anyway, the ends do break off and I'm not without split ends, I condition and everything like you're supposed to with bleached hair, my brown hair also seems to be easy to break though. Basically I just want to know if I keep on bleaching it will I end up bald or something? Because I'd really rather not be bald at 16, because I'd look silly with no hair.

Don't know if this is a question worthy of this site but I'd just like to confirm my worries/ put my mind at ease.

i don't think your going to go bald people have been bleaching their hair for years with no baldness, your probably straightening it to often without heat protection or something like that just take care of your hair with regular deep conditioners once a week and always use products to prevent damage e.g heat protectors and serum.....
Reply:No, I am a peroxide user, 40 strength...
Reply:hey, well your not going too go completely bald so stop worrying! lol it will pretty much kill your hair and it will become brittle and dry and a lot does fall out. so i would recommend letting it grow out for a few months at a time and then re-bleaching it =]

hope that helps!!

Reply:you're right, bleaching causes damage. breakage and damage, yes. balding, no. depending on what strenght of bleach is being used, it can be brutal to the hair. discuss with your stylist about what is happening. she shoulld be able to find a solution to lessen the amount of damage thats being done to your hair. if she doesn't know, go to someone else who does. in the meantime, use a deep conditioner on a daily basis, and seek stylist help. good luck.
Reply:It doesn't cause baldness but it will ruin your hair cuticles and cause your hair to be brittle and break easily.
Reply:if you have weak hair then you should stop bleaching it. Bleaching in general is bad for the hair because of all the chemicals. just use hair dye.
Reply:Bleaching will often cause damage, but not baldness. The number one cause of breakage in bleached hair is applying bleach over previously bleached areas. Bleach should only be applied to the new line of growth. Also, you mentioned that the rest of your hair breaks easily, which leads me to think you have fine hair in need of protein. As long as your hear is not mushy or stretchy like elastic, you should be ok, but I highly recommend a good protein (i.e. strengthening) shampoo, conditioner, and treatment line. I recommend Redken's Extreme line (it's what we use at the salon), but there are also many other great product lines available. If your hair tends to be on the dryer side normally, than moisturizing lines will also work, but I would definitely alternate between protein and moisture, and use the protein line EVERY time you bleach. Hope this helps!
Reply:My older brother used to bleach his bangs all the time, and now he is going bald. It started thinning at his bangs where he used to bleach.

Of course it may not be from bleaching his hair. It is common for people to start thinning in their twenties, you should not worry too much about it.
