How does bleaching affect your hair?

I want to bleach the top of my hair and dye the rest black and put in a few colored highlights so i was just wondering what bleaching can do to my hair.

How does bleaching affect your hair?
it dries your hair out alot!! only use it if you really need to.
Reply:well bleach strips th color out of your hair..once you do it you can't go back... you can dye but it's not the same as origional.. I wish I could go back in time.. I dont know my own hair color anymoroe...
Reply:it can damage your hair and may cause it to break in parts. Just be careful and don't do it too much
Reply:Yes, bleaching strips your hair of pigment giving it a lighter color. Using at home bleaches ( I don't car how gentle they say they are) are HORRIBLE for your hair. The chemicles are way to harsh and primitive for any hair. Go to a salon to get it done adn ask for a toner after, so you don't end up with any yellow or brassy color. Also, deep condition your hair often! I can't stress this enough, because you've just traumatized your hair now you need to be nice to it or you'll look fried! Trust me, I've been having my hair professionally died for years and they take very good care of my hair! Good luck!
Reply:Bleaching your hair is bad no matter what you do. Coloring the strands afterwards would mean your double processing your hair which will damage it. However if you get a deep conditioner and hot oil treatment it will help out your hair alot.
Reply:do it so all of your hair falls out and you look like an alien.
