Bleaching hair?!?!!?

I went to a salon to bleach my hair blonde since my natural color is blonde and it's currently brown and when they did a strand test, my hair looked okay but after they started rubbing it a little it frizzed out.

If I went ahead and bleached it, would my hair fall out or anything?

I was thinking of doing protein treatments or something else before bleaching it to make sure it was healthy enough.

What hair treatment product do you recommend? Don't give me a line of products. I just want to know of one specific product that helps with dryness, damage, and splitting ends and gives good results.

Bleaching hair?!?!!?
Well, I highly doubt your hair will fall out just because it got frizzy.

Bleach is damaging, but frizz isn't limited just to bleach. The same thing can happen with any color dye, and sometimes even the application (using the brushes) can cause frizzing. Especially if they do it in more than one direction, or swirl the brush when they apply the bleach- a lot of colorists do this.

You always have the option of getting a shorter hair cut when you have it bleached. This will remove most of the ends of your hair, which usually fry the most, and you won't have so much excess hair when you start to grow it out again. When you have shorter hair, it just seems like your natural hair grows back faster (even though it doesn't), simply because there isn't as much hair.

I cannot tell you how many times I've dyed and bleached my hair. I've done at home black-dye-jobs, and then bleached my hair platinum a couple weeks later. I've done all of them myself, and never has my hair fallen out. Cutting my hair short, and keeping it that short, helps a ton with your hair drying out- your continuously cutting off those fried ends.

The only time my hair ever started breaking off (not falling out) in a few places, was after I dyed my hair, and then did a straightening treatment a few weeks later. If you chemically straighten your hair, or plan to, then definitely don't bleach your hair until a couple months after that process.

Deep conditioning treatments always help, no matter the state of you hair. They're always great. =)
Reply:give up or shave it.
Reply:Joyco KPak System, newest and best on the market right now: use it once a week for reconstruction

use "Its a 10" as a leave in....after every shampoo..best on the market

make sure you are using a good daily conditioner and shampoo any salon sold daily for damaged hair

hope this helps

Reply:Okay, if your hair is even slightly damaged I would do exactly what you were going to do. Your hair needs protein, as this is what it is made up of. You can buy some really good keratin (that's the protein your hair and fingernails are made from) products from your salon. This will help rebuild the structure of the cuticle. If you have splits end then I'm afraid there is nothing you can do. Once they're there, that's it. No product in the world is going to get rid of them. If you put bleach onto already damaged hair, you are going to damage it even more and risk it breaking. Do weekly masque treatments and keratin treatments and get your hair trimmed. Once those split ends are gone you can help seal and protect them with a good product like Bonacure.

Good luck!
Reply:The best advise I can give you is talk to your hair professional, My hair is blond and its in great shape! I pay to keep it this way I have my hair touched up about every four or five weeks and have it conditioned in between times I have it colored. I pay my hair stylist 60 dollars every month and eighteen, every other week to have it deep conditioned its worth every cent! My hair looks natural and is great shape! Beware of over the counter color it almost fried my hair a few years ago! I really trust my stylist she has my hair looking great and I wouldn't let anyone else ever touch it! Good Luck!:)
Reply:I love redken products. I swear they're the best. i use color protecting shampoo but when my hair is lightened, i use their "extreme" line.

it's a little pricey-- like $12 a bottle, but totally worth it. there's a ton of different products made for distressed hair to make it more healthy and stronger. the shampoo, conditioner, and protein reconstructing treatment are really good.

another deep conditioner is aussie 3 minute miracle. again, i used this a few times a week when my hair was bleach blonde. it makes your hair silky and smooth and you can get it at wal-mart, drug stores, etc. for a lot cheaper.

hot oil treatments or protein treatments will also probably help. you might want to look into a leave-in conditioner or product that is made to use with heat (if you straighten/blow dry cause that can dry out your hair too.) try thermasilk. redken makes a line of products for styling also.

good luck!
