Should i bleach dark underarms with bleaching creams or just let them be??
shave them.
Reply:...don't you shave?
Reply:yeah, she's right. you gotta be careful with those bleaching creams. sometimes, they end up making it look more noticeable.
Reply:yes they do.. a good skin bleaching / whitening cream can be applied on the underarms every other day only because this area is thin and sensitive... that can get rid of the dark pigmentation if you want it gone fast.

Bleaching hair?

Now, before you tell me that I shouldn't bleach my hair, meh, it's my hair. Thanks. I know what will happen if I do it.

Well, a while ago, I tried bleaching my naturally light-brown hair, and it just came out this weird... color... It's like, an orangeish brown. After a month or two, some of the strands turned platinum blonde.

I got it done by a friend's mom who is a hair stylist, but she said she didn't have very strong bleach.

I'm going to a very expensive pro soon and I was wondering, can I bleach my hair blonde, like http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa50/...

that after dying it dark brown?

My friend has naturally blonde hair, got it black, then bleached it back. Everything worked fine and dandy for her.

Will it work for me, though, with the light brown hair? A lot of Japanese rockers obviously have black hair, but then they light it to almost white!!

So, can it be done on me?

Thanks a million~

btw, I know i've asked, but, have to do it again.

Bleaching hair?
dont keep bleaching your hair it will kill the roots and your hair will fall out.

Bleaching hair?

Ok.. so im dying my hair bright colours and Iv been told i need to bleach my hair. Any tips on how to do so? and as i have already dyed black hair.. will that affect anything? Iv already bleached my fringe but it turned out copper but i liked it so stopped, but apparantly if i wanted bleached fringe, like white i needed to keep bleaching it over and over till it goes whitish blonde...? And after i bleach it do i have to wait a while or can i directly dye it straight after? Any tips on bleching? thanks !

Bleaching hair?
Try L'Oreal Ultra Bleach. You may have to still redo several times to get rid of the black.

It's tricky, would be better if you let your hair grow out. I suggest, for the meantime, just do the front, some streaks or chunks of your hair, rather than all of it, else I fear you'll have a frustrating time dying your hair.

And yes, you have to bleach first for a bright color to show up properly.
Reply:IF HAIR IS AREADY COLORED BLACK-

TO LIFT THIS PROCCESS AND HAVE IT LIFT TO ITS

MAXIMUM POTENTIAL-OVER THE COUNTER PRODUCTS ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO DO SO.

IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO PROFESSIONAL BLEACH YOU WILL NEED ASSISTANCE, ONLY BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT SEE THE BACK OF YOUR HAIR AND YOU ONLY NEED TO APPLY IT ON A CERTAIN AREA, LIKE YOU ENDS FOR ISNTANCE.

YOU CAN OF COURSE APPLY COLOR TO BLEACHED HAIR AFTERWARDS.

BUT IF IT IS NOT LIFTED TO THE MAXIMUM AND YOU DO NOT HAVE EXTREMELY STRAIGHT PARTINGS YOU MAY RUN INTO PROBLEMS.

I WISH YOU LUCK, BE EVER SO CAREFUL.
Reply:after bleaching it use shampoo for blondes, no need for the expensive stuff john freida will do. And use hair sprays like sun-in or some off brand.
Reply:I have really dark hair, so when I wanted to dye my hair bright colours I had to strip the colour until it was really blond. The lighter the hair, the brighter the colour will be.

I used a powdered bleach mixed with peroxide (You have to know what you are doing to use this stuff as it is VERY TOXIC).

You should only bleach the same section of hair 2-3 times at most. Any more, the hair will be so damaged, it will become brittle and break off.

Would bleaching my hair ruin it?

Right now my hair is dyed dark brown and i want to dye it blood red. i would probably have to bleach it first but everyones telling me that it will ruin my hair and turn it to straw. should i bleach it or is there another way to lighten my hair with out bleaching it?

Would bleaching my hair ruin it?
Yes bleaching is horrible for your hair. No if you want to dye your hair a "color color" like red, blue, green etc. you will have to bleach it for it to be true.
Reply:lemon juice lightens it a lot. put lemon juice in then go into the sun. u might have to do it more than once, to get it that light but it works!
Reply:duh
Reply:It would definitely ruin it and I'm not even sure if those restoring shampoos would help. I'm not totally sure about anotehr way to lighten your hair so I won't give you a tip on that one.
Reply:Bleaching is horrible!
Reply:get it done at the salon. u might damage ur hair doing it at home coz the colour u chose is a bit extreme so dont take chances
Reply:You will have to bleach it to get a strong red color. It will damage your hair, it will dry it out. But as long as you haven't done too much coloring %26amp;/or perming to it lately, %26amp; use a good professional shampoo, conditioner, %26amp; treatment, than it should be ok - as long as you don't mind your hair not being in as good condition as it is now.
Reply:Well I hope you don't bleach your hair on your own because your dark brown hair is not going to lift to blonde on its own. It will first lift to an orange like color and if you bleach your hair too long you'll strip its pigment and it will be a grayish color. Use a good deep conditioner once a week, maybe even everyday. It couldn't hurt. Also you might try sleeping in that deep conditioner.
Reply:Bleaching your hair would ruin it. It's like the worst thing ever to do to your hair. And you'll never be able to get your original color again.

Why Do Black People Judge Skin Bleaching?

i am simply wondering...once i bleached an iron burn but i'm not into skin bleaching...but i don't see anything wrong with it.

about 90% of BLack women perm their hair (or more)

they are making their hair straight so it may look more like a caucasian person's hair...it is a form of assimilation

when someone perms their hair they must constantly flat iron it to upkeep it

whereas skin bleaching is frowned on because it is a more obvious form of assimilation. a person bleaches their skin for at least 2 weeks to show some kind of result to lighten their skin

if anything skin bleaching is better than hair perms. IF i bleached my skin i could go sit in the sun all day and be brown again. if i perm my hair i must wait like 2-4 months for the permed hair to grow out.

No Michael Jackson comments.

Why Do Black People Judge Skin Bleaching?
I'm trying to lighten my skin because I do want to be lighter. Let's face it, lighter skin women are most wanted, looked at as prettier in the black race because their complexion is close to white people's color. Even in show business, lighter black women make it more, their the most successful, and considered the most beautiful. Dark isn't very attractive. Black people are very self-hating. We try so hard to look white. The only thing black people are proud of is their butts but they want to look white, straighten nose, straighten hair, wear blonde weaves, wear blue and green eye contacts. It's funny white women are getting lip injections, butt implants, and darkening their skin to look black but blacks are trying to look white because our features were always made fun of yet white women have them and because they have them their considered beautiful.
Reply:From your picture, you look like just got out of the bleach tub.
Reply:It's called national pride. Though I'm not black. And I think black pigment should be healther than white because it safeguards around the sun.
Reply:I don't see anything wrong with using bleaching products to clear scars or imperfections. Nor do I see anything wrong with using them for aesthetic purposes. The problem comes in when one bleaches their skin because they are filled with self-hatred.
Reply:well if you're bleaching an iron burn, then i don't see nothing wrong with that at all.
Reply:That's funny. Black people bleaching their skin, and white people going to tanning salons.

People are going to do whatever they think makes them more attractive. What I don't understand is people, especially women who tattoo themselves, or get piercings. Does anyone think that makes them attractive?
Reply:I don't see anything wrong with bleaching skin discolorations. Because being out in the sun a lot, can change your skin tone permanently sometimes. Because who wouldn't their skin to be even toned all over their body. But if they are just doing it be lighter skinner, then that's ridiculous. Love yourself no matter what. And when I perm my hair, I don't do it so that my hair will look like a white person's hair. Even when permed, there's still an obvious difference in texture between our hair and theirs.
Reply:the problem begins when people do things for cosmetc reasons...there's nothing wrong with bleaching to fade scars...but i personally do not agree with bleaching to be something youre not...and perming/relaxing your hair...well everyone has their reasons for it..i for one relax my hair because its more manageable for me cos i wouldnt have time to maintain it otherwise....and im sure many other ppz get extension etc for the same reasons....as long as your not trying to be something your not...there nothin wrong with...cos when you try to be something your not thats when superficiality starts to creep in...
Reply:I didn't realize anyone actually bleached their entire bodies. But I can see why that would be frowned upon. I know lots of people who bleach their scars or dark spots to make them less noticeable.

Honestly I don't think anyone would go through the trouble of applying all of that creme all over their body just to get a little bit lighter, but I say to each his own. I never complain about people trying to assimilate so long as they don't complain about me lacking that desire.
Reply:Look we relax our hair because we want to and why are so many white women getting tans, lip implants, butt implants and some of white women have to get relaxers because they want to . Perms are for white women ;black women get relaxers. Please get knowledgeable about black women period. See people like you have a problem with themselves learn to love yourself then you want have to worry about anyone else.
Reply:skin bleaching is evidence of self hatred.
Reply:makybe they use perms to keep their hair okay. Caucasians I know have thick, nappy hair. I don't want hair like that. If you like bleaching go for it, just don't kill yourself. idc
Reply:Blacks frown upon skin bleaching because it is indeed a form of self hatred; why else would you bleach your skin besides not loving it? Bleaching a scar to even out your tone is not the same as bleaching your skin to be lighter. Skin bleaching is low self esteem plain and simple. People who do that obviously feel that lighter skin is better or more beautiful; they are not light enough and therefore are not beautiful enough. And yes bleaching creams and soaps are indeed dangerous. Many of the products contain mercury which over time contribute to kidney failure, and others contain corticosteroids and hydroquinone which thin out the skin.

Secondly 90% of black women do not relax their hair, the numbers have been estimated at 75%, that is a big different by a few millions. Furthermore, I cant speak for you, but for most black women who relax their hair it has absolutely nothing to do with trying to be white. It has everything to do with the ease of styling and versatility. Black women generally do not wear hair styles typical of European women, if it were about "being white" we would not wear the unique styles that we do wear and that many other races have mimicked (cornrows, braids, twists, up do's...) I know that when I go to my BLACK beauty salon, the women in the hair books are BLACK. Furthermore, relaxers are not exclusive to black women. I know plenty of hispanic, jewish, and white women with frizzy hair who wear relaxers.

Moreover, when a black woman relaxes her hair why assume she is trying to be European? Europeans are not the only group of people with fine hair. Who's to say they are not trying to be Latina, Indian, or Asian? For one thing any black woman will tell you that hair that is too straight it difficult to style and is undesirable to black women. Most would prefer to have a medium texture or curly hair which is more manageable and versatile.

And my last point to make is why is it that when a black woman chooses to relax or dye her hair she is assimilating? What of a white woman with curly hair who straightens it, or a white woman with brown hair who dyes it. I think it is terrible that we as black women are damned if we do and damned if we don't. I relax my hair monthly, I have had it highlighted red, and have had it dyed brown; but I love being a black woman. And I would never lighten my beautiful mahogany skin.
Reply:What's wrong with the skin you were born with? Why would you want to f*ck up your skin all over? Who's standard of beauty are you trying to fit?

Answer those questions and then maybe I'll stop "judging"

Good bleaching product for arm hair?

I have had the thickest darkest hair on my forearms for most of my life and I think I'm finally ready to bleach it.. Does anyone know of a really powerful bleaching product safe for body hair (mine is very coarse, dark, and probably resistant to most bleaching products). thanks!

Good bleaching product for arm hair?
jolyen/jolean is good
Reply:i dont know of one in particular... but i would go to the hair dressers. they will fix it easily and give you the best advice :)

I dont understand! My hair keeps bleaching unevenly!!!?

I have thick, curly and frizzy black hair, and I've been trying to bleach and color it to medium brown. What I've been using is L'Oreal, one specifically for dark hair to turn to medium-light brown. So the first time I used it, it did nothing at all to my hair. Just a slight tiny barely there change... And so I bought the same one and tried again, this time only the top of my head and near where I parted my hair was lighter. And then the middle of my hair and ends were lighter too but not as light as they should be. So appearantly only the top of my head was bleached to the color on the box, even so the top of my head has corners and places where it isn't all bleached as light as most of it. Also all of my hair, especially the middle and ends where it bleached the least has some stray hairs here and there that are the "right" color. But only stray and loose hairs at the edges.... Anyway I want to know why my hair keeps bleaching so unevenly and how I can get it to bleach properly.

I dont understand! My hair keeps bleaching unevenly!!!?
are you a virgin to hair color? meaning is this your first time coloring? If so the problem is you should have had someone part head into four parts....take a color brush starting at the nape take 1/4 parts and color the hair 1/4 from regrowth to 1/4 from ends....let that process and then go back and do the regrowth and the ends...the area closet to your scalp processes faster because the warm from your head causes it to do so...the ends of the hair process faster..because they are usually porous or dry....remember color doesn't lift color...so with that said...just stop coloring with a box right now....you are going to need to make an appointment with a salon to get a color put over the whole head to balance out the color...they might even be able to throw in a few highlights to break it up...so that it won't look so dark...i hope this helps you to understand what happened
Reply:so don't bleach it, besides most beaching looks bad
Reply:QUIT doing it yourself first of all. you are going to end up looking like a calico cat. See a professional.
Reply:Here's what happened. It sound like you have color on your hair (from before you applied this new color). If not, I'm not sure why it didn't change in the midshaft of your hair. The roots lifted because of your body heat, and the ends lifted because they're so porous and damaged.

You need a protein filler before you can do anything else, because you've damagedyour hair.

You really really really need to see a stylist - she's going to have to do a corrective color service on you.

When will people ever learn that bleaching and lifting is best left to the professionals?
Reply:the hair that's closest to your scalp bleaches faster b/c:

1. it is new growth and has not been processed before

2. it is closer to the scalp, which means that the temperature of your scalp speeds the lightening chemical reaction. you are supposed to do your roots last when bleaching your hair.
Reply:Don't bleach your hair. Your hair will get dry and even more frizzy!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:It sounds like you have been putting it on wrong. If you have been starting at the top near your scalp first then that is why that part is lighter. The hair next to your head lightens faster because it is new hair and your scalp produces heat which makes the hair lighten faster. Since you said that the hair near your scalp is the color you wanted, you should get more of the same color that you used and take it to a salon and have them fix it. They can section the hair off and get it more of an even color. They probably won't even put it on the hair next to your scalp. They need to lighten the rest of your hair to match the root area. Good luck

Is bleaching bad for the underam area?

i bought this DIY bleaching kit. it contains a pack of bleaching powder that you mix with water then you'll apply it to your skin. i don't know what its ingredients are because its not stated in the box. it does smell a lot like cornstarch. nothing happened to my skin though.

you think bleaching is bad for the underarms? i'm desperate to lighten my underarm because my whole body is olive colored but my underarms are dark! help!!!

Is bleaching bad for the underam area?
Is the product meant for skin? If so, then it should be fine. Always do an allergy test though -- mix up a teeny amount and put it on your underarm and wait to see if it causes any reaction (itching, burning, blisters, swelling, etc). If you don't react, you should be fine. Do not keep the product on longer than the instructions say to. If you do it and you're all irritated/sore, wrap an ice pack in a small towel and place it under your arms (NEVER put ice directly on skin!).

Keep in mind too, that it may cause the hair under your arms to turn orangey-blonde rather than "invisible" like you may be thinking!

Good luck!
Reply:oh my goodness never use bleach, a face product that you could use for bleaching the face and dark spots such as MD forte, look it up one the Internet at mdforte.com you can buy any product such as that containing the same ingredients. No bleach ouch
Reply:DUH, Bleaching is so bad. That's stupid!
Reply:maybe you have underarm fungi then. get it checked out by a doctor before using something like that!
Reply:I wouldn't use that same stuff for such a sensitive area, so try and go to your chemist and look for something specific! Good luck!

Is bleaching cream safe for my skin?

I have a little "mustache" above my lip and i was thinking about using bleaching cream 2 hide it. Should i go ahead and bleach it or wax it???? is bleaching okay for all skin types?

Is bleaching cream safe for my skin?
I would suggest that you don't bleach. A discolored upper lip may be even worse than a mustache. wax it -and do it soon. girls don't look good with mustaches
Reply:bleach is horable for your skin.wax it.and it's better cause you won't see it 100%.
Reply:most ppl tend 2 get reactions after bleaching........i dun think its advisable, its better u go 4 waxing or threading

Hair bleaching??

okay my hair is brown/black but underneath my bangs and a layer of my hair is like an orangey color from bleaching about 4 or 5 weeks ago i wanna bleach underneath my hair

because i wanna go back to blonde so im only doing little sections at a time so i don't fry my hair

how long will it take for me to get my hole head bleached? my hair is down to my shoulders

Hair bleaching??
if your going to bleach it you might at well just bleach it all at the same time cuz if you do it all at once or bit by bit your hair will probably be exposed to the same amount of bleach either way and be damaged just as much all your doing is prolonging it and leaving time for your roots to grow out.
Reply:I don't know how you can fry your hair by dyeing large sections (all the parts you want bleached) at a time. By waiting a month and more, your roots are just going to grow in the area , and you'll have to retouch your roots. Bleach all the hair underneath (excluding the patch you've already done), and follow directions. You can only fry it if you leave it in for too long or overbleach it. The length of time between bleachings has no effect over the health of your hair if you're talking about seperate sections.

Does bleaching kill your hair more then dying it?

i want to dye a little peice of my hair hot pink but i have dark brown hair so i would have to bleach it. once i bleach it will my hair be more dead then just dying it and skipping the bleaching part?

Does bleaching kill your hair more then dying it?
Yes, bleach will damage it more. But to get the hot pink to show you will have to lighten it somehow, and bleach is the only way to accomplish that. If you condition the piece really well after bleaching it and after applying the hot pink, it won't look as dried as it would if you hadn't conditioned it. I had blue hair during the summer. Yea, my hair got dried out. But if you use a good conditioner on it, it will feel healthy and not look too dry.
Reply:Yes, bleaching strips the color out.
Reply:YES IT CAN DAMAGES YOUR HAIR IF YOU DO IT ALL THE TIME BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS GET A HOT OIL TREATMENT.
Reply:Yes, it strips your hair bad!!!
Reply:Yes indeed. Bleach is very damaging and if you don't know what you are doing you can cause your hair to fall. Please consult a beautician before trying it on your own inorder for them to give you pointers. They might even do it for you!! Lol but if you're going to put dye in your hair, make sure it is a rinse. Keep your hair moisturized and give it a deep condition every other week. From someone who's been thru the damage before
Reply:You would have to bleach it first to get the pink to show. But the bleach would damage it more.

Skin bleaching/skin lightening success stories? If theres any :(?

i just want to know if anybody successfully bleached or lightened there skin complexion. if so what did you use? what problems did you face? was it perscribed if so did your insurance pay for it? and most of all are you happy with the decision you made?

i would love to here from you guys.

and please pretty please dont criticize.

and im going to be honest with you all, i really want to bleach my skin. i dont want to go extreme like mj but i want to be lighter.

its been something i wanted to do for a long time and im starting to think its virtually impossible.

please guys i need your help please dont criticize.

im just want to do something thats going to make me happy and if i showed you guys pics of me im pretty sure you would recommend bleaching.

Skin bleaching/skin lightening success stories? If theres any :(?
you don't deserve to be criticized at all.. some people who want their skin bleached do it for a higher self esteem, which i think is the category you fall in.. and it's absolutely ok so don't feel guilty about it.. some may tell you "why do you want fair skin while others want a tan?" .. e.x.a.c.t.l.y... not everyone is the same..

a cosmetic doctor WILL treat you a skin lightening regimen if you wish it, but it won't be covered in medical insurance because it's classified as a 'want', not a 'need'.. that's the difference..

DON'T buy products with hydroquinone, mercury or steroids.. they will harm your skin now and after long term use.. safe ingredients are kojic acid, licorice, papain, vit.C..

where to find them?.. here's the link.. you'll find great testimonials there.. before, during and after using skin lightening products, always wear SPF 30 or higher sunscreen ok?.. good luck..
Reply:They were able to skin reatachment and transplant a new skin onto another person's body. Thats basically one of the other ways to change color skin. And also they were able to transplant eyes, like switching greens for blues.
Reply:Im not gonna critize but a clean, free of acne, brown skin is rly nice and what every1 wants and I want 1. I would trade you mine if u got that one.
Reply:No doctor in his right mind will perform a medical skin bleaching on someone just because they want to be lighter. An insurance company would NEVER pay for a cosmetic skin bleaching, not in a thousand years, if it were not medically necessary for some reason. It would be dangerous and really costly. If you are really concerned about your dark skin, apply sunscreen at least twice per day with an SPF of at least 30. This will prevent you from becoming darker and may help your skin lighten a bit. Also, your ethnicity is a factor...You can't just make yourself look white if you are african american or latina.

However, there are skin lightening products. Use a lotion containing Hydroquinone - it is the main skin lightening product used by millions of people. Many designer skincare lines such as Shiseido and Dior carry creams with hydroquinone. Just realize that they will be costly and the effects will not be dramatic. These kinds of creams are mostly marketed to people with hyperpigmentation or uneven dark patches caused by sun exposure or birth control medication.
Reply:Obagi Nu-Derm Clear is the major bleaching and correcting preparation in the Nu-Derm Skin Health Restoration program. It contains 4% hydroquinone (prescription strength) as the active ingredient in an activating base to increase its effectiveness.

Works miracles!

Teeth bleaching options?

I am considering having my teeth bleached at the dentist for my wedding. I have the money, but could also set it aside for the honeymoon instead. Before I spend all that money, I was wondering if anyone has had their teeth bleached at the dentist and if you think it was worth it? How would you compare it to home whitening like crest strips or rembrant? I have tried over the years several of the home whitening kits with small, almost unnoticable results. Usually, the problem is I don't have the time or energy to stick to a twice a day programme. Are there any other higher end home bleaching products that deliver results in just one or two applications?

It should be said that my teeth aren't that bad, just could be a few shades whiter, especially against my white wedding dress in photos that will be around for the rest of my life.

Thanks!

Teeth bleaching options?
If you stick with the Whitestrips for the full 30 minutes twice a day, and dont skip any, you will love the results....for a fraction of the cost. I did them before I had porcelian crowns replaced and the dentist said I couldnt have gotten whiter results by professional bleaching. They had to use the whitest porcelain (B1 on the color chip chart) to match the enamel.
Reply:use crest strips! Don't bother with paying the dentist. use the $ on other things. Remember you will look great and ppl only want the food! For real!
Reply:i ordered online formular that dentist use, and it comes in a needle like tube. it smarts alittle when you put it on, and if you buy one of those lights for teeth lightening in the drugstore, the total cost is under 50 dollars and it works. it is carbon peroxide 99%. use every day good luck

Bleaching dark brown hair to blonde at a salon, how do you take of roots?

I have dark brown hair and am planning to bleach it to a natural blonde at a salon. No dying or anything else done to my hair after.

I want to be able to touch up my roots at home so is all I need is bleach? Put it on at the roots and blend a little, then try to get it to match the color of the rest of my hair?

Won't the bleaching job by the salon have a slightly diff color than bleach you would get from a box? Thus the root touch ups wouldn't look good?

I want to get the initial bleaching at a salon because it's better for your hair but I don't want to go there every month for root touch ups. HELP??

Bleaching dark brown hair to blonde at a salon, how do you take of roots?
anything from a box is never bleach NEVER

you should never ever use that stuff on your hair

you need real bleach to do your roots it will go through the same blonde stages as it will in the salon so you can get it the same color....

always use a blue bleach never a bleach kit

but this stuff a t a beauty supply store

btw bleach is bleach no matter if you do it at home or at a salon same things.
Reply:well bleach is the worst thing you can do to your hair... it damages it like crazy so make sure your willing to take the risk... but if your hair is really healthy then it shouldnt be too bad but use lots of deep conditioner. the thing is you really dont want to do bleach yourself unless you have experiance. i reconment just going to get touch ups every so many weeks.

Hair bleaching?

Hi,

I wanted to know if bleaching your hair can damage it (alot) or make it fall out.

I want to bleach the ends of my hair only about an inch or so.

And then dye it pink.

Can anyone tell me if bleaching is a bad idea.

Hair bleaching?
don't use real 'bleach'. It IS way to harsh for hair, it will burn it and make it frizzy and it can even fall out.....buy a in store product like 'blondisima' it uses bleach and will turn your tips white...you can buy 'icing kits' that will do the tips of your spikes too (also by blondisima or clairol). Then get a temporary pink dye that will wash out after 5-6 washes, you can buy all this stuff at any drug store.
Reply:It depends on your hair type and health.

Generally, bleaching ALWAYS damages your hair somehow, no matter what hair you have.

If your hair is healthy and normal, not too frizzy, you can bleach it just do it professionally. But don't count on this because you never know how will your hair adjust to the bleaching.

Natural Homemade Tips for Hair %26amp; Skin

Bleaching your hair?

ok so i've been trying now for a good while to get my hair back to blonde okay i'm naturaly blonde but i've dyed my hair so many colors and i got this one stuff that worked really good but i want it to be all bleach blonde and i mean bleach blonde so i was wundering if anyone could help or tell me what kind of bleaching stuff to get...

Bleaching your hair?
If your hair is already lightened, I would recommend Quickblue for bleaching. If your hair still has a lot of dye in it, do this or go to a salon.

I would first recommend stripping your hair. Color stripper is available at Sally's or another beauty supply store. This will remove all the dye in your hair, taking it back close to the natural color. Check it every five minutes until it is the color you want. Get one that moisturizes so you don't burn your hair. Use a processing cap to cover it. Make sure to use gloves and an applicator brush and apply to the ends first. Make sure you get even coverage of the stripper. If it burns badly then rinse immediately! Then dry your hair after you remove most of the dye. Don't overprocess!! You just want remove enough of the dye to bleach it. If you bleach without removing the color first, it could come out orange or multicolored. Quick blue bleaches the best, I have found. You will need a mixing bowl, brush, gloves, bleaching powder like Quickblue, and developer. This will bleach your hair very light, maybe even white blond. If your hair looks yellow after bleaching, you can use a product like bluing, that will remove the yellow. The result should be something like Christina Aguilera's hair now.
Reply:when bleaching your hair get it done professionally... there is a strong possibility you might overdo yourself and burn your hair...
Reply:I would say go into hot topic or Spencer's. They have multi colored hair dye there. Since people bleach their hair before putting extreme colors into it, they probably sell bleach there.

You would probably get it alot cheaper there than from a salon, or you'd get a better brand then from Walmart or Rite Aid.

Good luck!
Reply:if it's not out of your budget, I would get it done professionally at a salon. A few years ago, I had brown hair and I tried to dye it bleach blond wiht L'oreal dying kit. It turned my hair an orange color.
Reply:I know that you desire to be bleach blonde again. But as you have already said you have colored it so many colors that it may not work out that you can bleach it back to how blonde it was. What you should do is call a local salon and ask them to do a test strand on you. This is where they take a piece of your hair and put bleach on it and see how it processes. They will be able to see how high it lifts and how damaged it is in the end. This is gonna be the best way to go...to even see if your hair has the ability to go back to bleach blonde.

Bleaching hair?

A few weeks ago I attempted to put to black streaks in my hair, and they turned out purple, now they have faded and I want to get rid of them, from my understanding I can only do this by bleaching my hair, what is the best brand to bleach hair with? does L'oreal or any other brand have a bleaching kit?

Also I tried covering the streaks up with normal hair dye (which I learned that you cant color over a color with another color lol)

Is this correct?? or could I just try using the hair dye I have at home.....my hair is blonde also

thanks in advance :)

Bleaching hair?
first i would like to say that the best remedy for this is to go to a stylist. it is worth the money.

if you are against this, you can go to a beauty supply store (such as sally's) and get some hair bleach. redken is a good brand to go with.

it is going to be difficult but you are going to have to keep the streaks seperate from the rest of you hair, so that the bleach won't bleed. foils would be a good idea.

if you do it at home, keep in mind that it is not going to bleach out evenly. you will have to cover the streaks with toner or color when they light enough. you are not going to be able to get black streaks blonde immediately. you will most likely end up with orange-y brown streaks.

bleach is very damaging if used incorrectly, so if you must do it yourself do it with caution. don't ruin your hair if you don't have to.

again, a professional stylist is your best move. good luck with it.
Reply:so ur hair is blonde and you wanted black streaks? why didnt they come out. was the dye you bought black black? go to sallys beauty supply and ask there they will tell you exactly what you need to buy and they know what their talkin about. good luck. ive tried bleachn my hair myself and it turned out orange ill never do that again! lol
Reply:i would use http://www.clairol.com/niceneasy/born_bl...

it is stronger then average store bought.find it at rite aid save on etc...g☺☺d luck!

Bleach is not bleaching!?

I'm trying to add some bleach spots to some old jeans of mine to give them a new look..but it's not bleaching!! What the heck?

Bleach is not bleaching!?
Are you adding water to the bleach? This "activates" it. Don't use too much or the material will deteriorate fast and others may be getting a "look" at parts of you that are not what you want.

Bleaching unwanted hair???

You know how if you pluck or shave unwanted hair it makes the hair grow darker when it grows back in. Is this the way it works with bleaching hair. And when you bleach unwanted hair does it make the hair white so it like stands out really noticebly and is it really common for you to get irritated skin when you bleach???

Bleaching unwanted hair???
It is a wive's tail that the hair grows back thicker.

In fact, when you pluck hair you can eventually harm the cuticle which can eventually make the hair not grow back at all.

Definitely pluck/wax instead of bleaching if you can. It looks much better.
Reply:First place, hair does NOT grow back darker and thicker. This is an "old wives tale."

Second, bleaching hair may cause damage to skin.

So, why color unwanted hair when you can just shave it off?
Reply:Bleaching can make your hair blonde. It depends on how long you leave it on. Yes it can irritate your skin so test a little bit on your arm. Sally Jensen makes great bleaching cremes. Don't use real bleach!
Reply:ok where is this hair at????

Bleaching A Mustache?

I'm an african-american (a beyonce skin complexion for the best example), and I figured maybe bleaching my mustache would help it not show. Though, I figured with the type of skin I have, It would still show, or the bleach wouldn't help.

I regret shaving it, so I'm not doing that twice. I don't know if I should get a wax, because a shadow of the mustache would probably show as if you could tell that I've done something.

So what should I do? Is bleaching the best bet, or should I do something else?

Bleaching A Mustache?
if u bleach it, u will look like 1 of tose got milk peeple, xept worse. you should just shave it and no it wont grow back thicker
Reply:I think the best thing to do is hair lazer removal. It hurts but at least ther eare no bumps from shaving (African Americans have a hard time with bumps from shaving), and bleaching may make it show more since you have lovely dark skin.

Bleaching my arm hair?

people always like make fun of me because i have really hairy arms.. but the worst part is...i have dark hair so its black and noticable. im thinking of bleaching it so it is less noticable..do you think it will be less noticable because i still have a lot of hair it just will be bleached. and i have dark hair. do you think that it will look weird when i have dark brown hair and then bleached arm hair? i need help!

Bleaching my arm hair?
Me and my friend are going through the same problem. She is a brunette, and I'm a dirty blonde, and we both have natural color hair. We both have hairy arms, but I decided to bleach mine. Mine turned okay, because my hair is dirty blonde and it's reasonable for my arm hair to be blonde too. I actually like it, but it tends to fade away, and you have to bleach it again. The problem is when you bleach again, if you have tanned skin which is not your real skin color, the bleach turns your tan color lighter. If you want to bleach, go for it..but since you have dark hair..it probably will look weird :X
Reply:Whatever you do, DO NOT SHAVE IT! I did it, cause I have the same problem. It jsut grew back THICKER, and when I get cold, my hair LITERALLY stands up on end! I've never tried bleaching, though. I learned just to live with it. Report It

Reply:I dont think it will work. A friend of mine had a same problem and tried it, her arm was still hairy but blond... it looked weird...
Reply:The hell with them. If they don't like you for who you are, find better friends.
Reply:if you want to get rid of it just shave but watch out for cuts
Reply:well i have the same problem as you..but i dont think u should bleach it..my teacher bleached her mustache and it looked blonde and weird ..i think that it will make the situation worse..Honestly, i wouldnt do it

Bleaching hair...?

I have dark brown hair, and I've bleached a few streaks before, but now I'm thinking about bleaching all of my hair (if I don't like it then I'll dye it brown and black). Will the bleach make my hair fall out?

thanx

Bleaching hair...?
Not if you do it right!
Reply:no i have blonde bleached hair and your hair will not fall out.
Reply:YES , it fries your hair, have a pro . do it for you
Reply:probably.. also it will damage your hair badly..:(
Reply:Bleaching an entire head is SO much more difficult than a few pieces. I really do not suggest you do this at home. The timing is very important as well as the application. Also remember that the further you go away from your natural hair color the more you need to maintain. If you don't maintain well it looks really tacky to be so light! I really recommend that you do not do this, I for see orange in your future. That is going to be a lot harder to fix and more expensive to fix than just going to a salon in the first place. Best of luck.

Please Read!!!! Bleaching/dying my hair at home. What is the safest way possible?

Telling me to get it professionally done will not change my mind. I'm sorry but it just wont. So please what is the safest way to bleach/dye my hair. Best products to use pre-bleach, when bleaching and after bleaching. Best products to use when dying my hair the color I want.. And after.

It would be a great help if you could give me a lot of details!

If you have a favorite hair color line, you can call their toll-free number for advice on how to do things safely. (They'll suggest a strand test and a patch test to see the likely results and make sure you're not allergic, for one thing.) I worked one of those hotlines a few years ago, and I had more training than I've had for any other job, so they can give you some good advice. I don't know the latest products as it's been quite a while, but that would be a start. (Or if people here suggest some particular brands, you can call their 800 numbers.)

Tips while bleaching hair

Bleaching Hair?

My natural hair color is a dark brown. I've dyed my hair twice, and put highlights in it once or twice. But, it has not been dyed anything drastic. It's only been dyed dark brown (after putting blonde highlights in) and been dyed black from dark brown. Now, it's getting to the point where you can see the brown color coming back out. But, lately I've been thinking about bleaching it and putting ACTUAL COLOR in it. Such as bleaching and putting some electric blue tips. (Or highlights) Would it be a very smart idea to do this, or is it to unhealthy since I've dyed it twice? And if I did so, would the color actually stay in since I'm BLEACHING it?

Bleaching Hair?
I bleached my hair for 3 years and i had white peroxide hair .. and my hair is wrecked now and all difernt lenghts, i wouldn'd advice this .. and bleaching your hair and putting another colour over is a bad idea because bleach takes the colour out ur hair and the pigments is what keeps the colour onto your hair .. so if you where to put a colour onto the bleach it's jst going to go lighter and lighter evrytime u wash it .. ahnd if ur playing to have bleach hair ahnd put a colour eg blue pink red etc in it the same will happen only the colour will run ... ( had that experince when i had bleach hair with pink in it and my hair looked like candyfloss because the colour ran evrytym i washed it .. ! hope av been a wee bit of help to u =]
Reply:UMM BLEACHING YOUR HAIR ISNT ALL THAT GREAT BUT IT IS POSSIBLE BUT YOUD HAVE TO BLEACH YOUR HAIR, THEN WAIT A COUPLE DAYS AND PUT THE BLUE IN IT. BUT BUY SOME FORM OF DEEP CONDITIONER OR MOISTURIZER FOR AFTER YOUR DONE WITH ALL THE DYING
Reply:highlights are ok just don't over do it ! It can kill your hair !
Reply:I bleached my hair and now it will not stop breaking. It is the worst thing to do for your hair. It makes it look very dry and unless it it is done professionally it might come out blotchy. Just be very careful and make sure you keep it very conditioned with leave in conditioner.

Yes, another bleaching question?

i know the stages hair must go through when you bleach it, ( orange, gold, yellow, pale yellow, white ) but my question is if i bleach my hair once, and it turns orange, if i bleach it AGAIN will it go to the pale yellow? or stay at orange?

yes im aware of the damage

yes i know i should go to a salon

please no lectures or advice on breakage ect ect i just want to know if bleaching it twice will work or if ill be stuck at orange.

Yes, another bleaching question?
If the hair can structurally take it, you can bleach again. Do not use over a 20 vol. If you are stalling out at orange after two bleaches that is it baby. I would say what ever you put on there before , the dark color, just is not going to budge. If you do not have hair color on ,your product and application and timing is way off. Rinse off with very cool water. Gently shampoo. I would wait 24 hours to tone it. Your scalp will be on fire otherwise. Condition not only your hair but work it into you scalp also to relieve dryness. Best of luck.
Reply:the more u bleach it the lighter it will get until you get to a VERY pale yellow - THEN it starts to break off!!!! sounds like you already know the routine!!
Reply:It wouldnt be orange

I know beacuse I have over 5000 posts on

Trust me I know my stuff. Ask all your Bleaching questions there so you dont waste points here :P
Reply:i will still have some orange, but instead of bleaching it again so soon just use a toner on it towhead violet works good don't keep it on to long or your hair will have a purple tint just keep it on long enough to get the orange out. the toner tones down the brassyness so you will look more blonde instead of orangey.
Reply:Bleaching over bleach is bordline insane...your hair can and will break off, it'll be like a chemical haircut. It sounds logical to just do it again, but it doesn't work that way. You need to do at all at once. Trust me, was a hair colorist for 7 years and saw some bad nightmares with people pushing it with bleach. If you want to get rid of the orange you would be better to get a green base to counteract the orange to a more neutral tone. I think this is your best option. Regular color/toners use a lower grade perioxide and are safer than bleach. Don't use the bleach again, it is not a good option at all!

Bleaching Kits and color ?

I want to bleach my hair, but I have orangish brown hair from dying my dark brown hair, blonde. Well I want to bleach it. But most likely it will turn orange. So I would like to put color in it also. How bad will it damage it?

Also about how much do the hair bleaching kits cost?

Bleaching Kits and color ?
Since you have artifical color depositied in your naturally dark brunette hair you will need to use a color stripper before bleaching to remove the artifical pigment out of your hair. Apply fresh bleach on your hair is only intended for those who have virgin hair. Go to your local sally's beauty supply ask the salesperson and he or she will determine the right color stripper for your hair. While you are there ask the salesperson there for the blonding products which are the developer I recommend anywhere from a 20-40 volume but not higher( I recommend the 20 volume delveloper because it is the most gentle), blue lightening powder and the lightening gel be sure to buy an applicator bottle there too. Once you have used the color stripper your hair will be orange. Do not be alarmed. After you have used the color stripper rinse condition and you are ready for the bleaching process. In the appllicator bottle mix 2 ounces of developer with 2 lightening blue powder packets shake unitl the powder is dissolved then the lightening gdel or creme whichrver you prefer and shake for 30 seconds. Apply the lightening mixture to hair but don't touch the roots yet. Once the lightening mixture is applied fully then you may touch the roots. Let the lightening mixture devleop in your hair. Your hair will go through several stages before it is fully lightened. My recommendation is to leave the lightening mixture for no more than an an hour to two hours because the color stripper will leave your hair very porous. Once you hair is lightened to a golden yellow rinse condition and I recommend that you give your hair a day or two to heal. Now you are ready to apply the color. My recommendation is using the Loreal Feria #72 Caramel Kiss Dark Iridscent Blonde it is wonderful all over color which is gentle enough to use on pre-lightened hair. It also comes with an innovative anti-brass conditioner for blondes. Allow for it to process for 25 minutes and you will have beautiful rich dark blonde hair. With the color stipper the bleach and the haircolor will be around $20-30 dollars US. Which is much cheaper than a couple of trips to the salon where you are expected to pay $80-100 a pop. Go to sally beauty supply and you will have all the key ingredients to achieve beautiful salon inspired hair at home without having to pay a fortune. Take Care
Reply:hey,

i found that my hair would also go an orangey color after home bleaching kits, but now i use B Blonde bleaching kit costs about £5 ($10)..i left it on for about 90 minutes and the result was kinda like a paris hilton bleach blonde which is what i wanted, also to keep it light and orange free i use john freida sheer blonde shampoo, or the l'oreal purple shampoo which gets rid of brassy tones.

Bleaching my teeth from a dentist office.?

I'm about to get my teeth bleached next week. Today they made the impressions and next week, I will actually start the bleaching process. I paid $200 to get this done. Does it really work? One of my crowns that I had put on from a root canal, didn't match my other teeth, so the dentist suggested I get them bleached to match the crown that he put on today. He said that if it doesn't work, I may look into getting crowns or veeners. Does it sound like he is after my money or does bleaching really work? The crown is slightly whiter then my other teeth and the dentist said he could send it back without charging me for it so he told me that bleaching would be the best method. I'm worried that this isn't going to work and I will be out $200. Does anyone have any experiece with bleaching and does it work?

Bleaching my teeth from a dentist office.?
The take home trays do not work as well as the in-office bleaching. Plus it may take up to 2 weeks to see any results. I often find myself stopping the bleaching after 3-4 days because I cannot stand the sensitivity that the bleaching causes.

I think you asked a question yesterday about the crown you mention today. The doctor should not charge you to send the crown back to the lab. Like I said yesterday, this was his mistake, not yours. He should take responsibility for his mistake. Sounds like you need to start searching for a new dentist!!
Reply:I've never had my teeth bleached but know people who have and it does work

if you just wanted a new crown and he got the colour wrong then surely he shouldn't charge you for his mistake
Reply:The bleaching process usually works very well. However, my concern is with your dentist. Most dentists will match a crown to the surrounding teeth. Or, if you've planned on whitening your teeth, they will have you bleach them first and then match the crown. Be sure that you are happy with the final results. And, don't pay for another crown if the color is off because of your dentist!
Reply:Bleaching from a dentists office does work and he should have had you bleach a few weeks before he did the crown so then the crown would have matched your teeth but it should still work the way you are doing it..

Bleaching hair?

Okay. I want to dye the top part of my hair blonde like so:

http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/1880/...

My hair is currently dark brown. i know i would probably have to bleach my hair to ge the blonde, because the brown is really dark.

Is there a way to go blonde without bleaching? because i heard of a way, but i dont think its true.

Also, how would I got about bleaching my hair at home?

What would I need?

Bleaching hair?
I was a brunette most of my life, then decided to bleach my hair myself.

I tried blonde colour, but that didn't work.

So I got a bleaching kit from the drug store hair colour aisle and it worked. But it fried my hair and it started breaking and splitting - it looked like a head of straw.

So my hairdresser cut the bad stuff off and I spent a year growing it back out.

From that time on, I have my hairdresser bleach my roots for me once a month and I have long, shiny, great blonde hair.

Take it from one that learned the hard way, don't do it yourself. You won't like the results and your hair will not be healthy. Nothing tackier than a bleached straw-head.
Reply:Bleaching it is the only way to go from a dark brown to a light blonde.

Bleach kits are available at pretty much any pharmacy or grocery store for $8-$12. They have everything you would need to bleach your hair.

I would also suggest a hot oil treatment or extra conditioning treatments. Although bleach kits include a conditioner, bleaching your hair is very very harsh on your hair.
Reply:well you could put lemon juice in it as crazy as it sounds it works or theres a salon.it makes it lighter at least.
Reply:Apply Hydrogen Peroxide ( H2 O2 ), little quantity, a good and purest quality, inform the pharmacist the purpose. Take extra care wile applying.

But personally i do not recommend bleaching, considering long time effects ( both your hair and personal health ), Be natural. Good luck.

Help! Iam bleaching my hair, and I need some tips??

Iam going to dye Parts of my hair Bleach blonde. My hair is dark brown right now with some black in it.

How long am I going to need to keep the bleach in it??

I tryd bleaching one part and kept the bleach in there for an hour but It didnt really do anything.

Help! Iam bleaching my hair, and I need some tips??
i dont know what kind of bleach youre using, but it definitely should have lightened your hair quite a bit, especially after an hour of processing time. first of all, i would highly recommend seeing a licensed cosmetologist for bleaching, but if you must do it on your own, good luck to you! if you are trying to get dark brown/black to bleach blonde.. youre going to have a very hard time, especially on your own. i would suggest atleast going to a beauty supply store (such as Sally's) to get a bleach and developer- don't get it from the grocery store. good luck to you!
Reply:you really should go to the salon-you dont have a clue what your doing. It will cost you alot more to get it fixed than if you go have it done -before you really screw it up, I see people like you on a daily bases.

Bleaching hair?

How do some people change their hair color every week, but somehow manage to keep it healthy and beautiful? Is there some crazy secret or mad science that I don't know about? I have dark hair that is pretty healthy, and I want to bleach it either blonde or red, but I'm afraid because of all the horror stories that there are about bleaching. And yet, if it's so bad, how do some people bleach their hair constantly, and still have such gorgeous locks?

Bleaching hair?
They aren't actually bleaching their hair every week. They bleached their hair once at the beginning, then they put a rinse in it. A rinse like Manic Panic. These are called temporary hair color, they wash out very quickly, so you'll be able to put a new color in just about every week if you like. I know, because I bleached my hair then kept changing the color with Manic Panic.

I didn't like it because the color "bleeds" all over the place. I had many towels and pillow cases stained with my hair color choice of the week.

If you do decide to bleach your hair go to sally's and ask a ton of questions. They usually have licensed hair care professionals there who are more than happy to answer your questions. Remember, there are no dumb questions, your hair is very important to you.

Good luck!

How long between bleaching and coloring should I wait...?

I'm planning on going from a currently dark-brown color (which is half-natural, half accidentally dyed darker about a year ago; was supposed to go blue, ended up black, and the black won't go away, bah!) to a bright burgundy-red-color.

I'm told I should first bleach it out so the red shows up brighter, because that's very much what I want, but I worry about what I'll look like as a bleach-blond (I'm very fair-skinned in the way that's sometimes called "glow in the dark", hah, and mildly gothic, and I assume bleach-blond!me will look sickly and blah). Is it okay to bleach and then right away add the red, or should I wait a week, or even longer?

I'm not sure what bleaching I'm going to use, but the red dye I've already bought, and it's "Revlon ColorSilk, Burgundy (48)", if any of that matters. :)

How long between bleaching and coloring should I wait...?
First off, I wouldn't suggest bleaching your hair before dying or red from brown. The reason being is because the red hair dye will show up over the brown and because the bleach damages your hair really bad. However, it will show up brighter. Anyways, you can dye the red right after bleaching it. Just try to put a deep conditioner in it between the blonde and the red.
Reply:i would never bleach any type hair just get it colored

bleaching your hair can be dangerous to your roots
Reply:eh i bleached my hair and added red the same day and my hair was fine id say go for ittt dood.

you got myspace?

www.myspace.com/cyanidscars is me add me you seem pretty rad.
Reply:I would not bleach your hair especially if you are so fair skinned. If you burn easily in the sun bleach will burn your scalp. Why not just use the color and as the old color fades you will become more and more red.

Call a local salon too they may tell you.

Bleaching hair?

ok so i know bleaching your hair isnt good for your hair but , is it true that if you put bleach in the tiolet and flush your hair will it go blonde? also what will bleaching do to your hair. thankyou.

Bleaching hair?
Well, that's a new one!! You don't have to go that extreme - gross, who wants to put their head down a toilet!! Please purchase the correct bleach/hilighting kit from your local supermarket or pharmacy and read the instructions carefully. Bleaching does dry out the hair, but with careful maintenance it can really look and feel stunning. Use conditioner regularly, leaving on for at least 5 min after towel drying hair and use a hot oil treatment at least once a week - hope this helps you - please don't go doing the toilet thing - yuck !!
Reply:LMFAO. Thank you for making my day with that ridiculous story.

It'll damage your hair and make it lighter, simply put.

BUT NO THIS ISN'T CLOROX BLEACH. This is real hair coloring bleach...two DIFFERENT things.
Reply:HAHAHAH when i was younger i thought that if you put your hair in clorox bleach it would turn it blonde and I was wrong, if you want to bleach your hair (which I have done) it is a long and hard process, I went from dark brown almost black hair with red in it to almost a platinum blonde now, but i was stupid to put a box bleach in my hair and it turned my red hair orange, and my dark hair a tannish orange color, i then had to go to the paul mitchel school to get it fixed and so far its been about 5 times ive had my hair bleached and i like it. Go to a beauty school or a salon, beauty school is cheaper and the teachers are there to supervise. trust me its better to just pay the extra money to get it done by a pro then to mess it up yourself and end up cutting off all your hair (experience)
Reply:Okay, first of all: EW. Why would you ever put your head in a toilet?

Next, no. Your hair will not go blonde. That's possibly the worst thing you can do. To bleach your hair, I highly suggest going to a PROFESSIONAL. If you bleach the wrong way, you can really damage your scalp. Just to warn you: bleaching hurts. Also, NO. CLOROX. BLEACH.

USE HAIR BLEACH. TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!

Bleaching my roots?

Okay so right now im in the process of bleaching my hair and when its all done im going to dye my roots blue and have the rest of my hair blonde and pink and black so i plan on bleaching my hair tonight not all of it just some of it how long should i leave the bleach in for

my hair underneath is black

Bleaching my roots?
Until you get the desired level of lightness.

Bleaching my hair?

I've been bleaching my hair for about a year now, without any problems, However, a couple of months ago, i somehow messed it up (i think i wasnt paying attention when i grabbed the "wrong" bleaching kit) so it turned out yellow/orange. Just awful, So as desperate as i was, i colored my hair brown over it and it turned out blue. LOL. Anyways, i went to the saloon and had it fixed. Now my roots are showing and they are a dark orange color (the hairstylist had to neutralize it).

Now im just kinda worrying how it's gonna be if my hair has an orange "base" tone, how it's gonna turn out, since i'm just filling out my roots. But i'm thinking it should be okay since bleaching is soo strong.

Any ideas??

Bleaching my hair?
NEVER BLEACH YOUR HAIR NO MATTER WAT ANYONE SAYS THAT IS NOT GOOD TO YOUR HER ONE OF MY FRIEND DID THAT IT TURNED BLONED AND THICK AND THEN FELL OFF BUT NOW ITS GROWING SHOULDER LENGTH BUT IT WAS VERY LONG B4.NOW SHE KNOWS NOT DO THAT SO DONT DO THAT.

Bleaching hair.?

I was previously a red head but am trying to bleach my hair, the top area is fine but as i get closer to the tip I find that i can't get rid of the previous color should I attempt to just saturate whatever didn't get bleached with a bleaching product if so any product recommendations? **currently using L'oreal Blondissima***

Bleaching hair.?
When bleaching hair, always first apply bleach to all of your hair except the hair 1/2 inch from your scalp and lighten it to yellow. The heat from your scalp is going to process the bleach a lot faster than the hair further down from your scalp, leaving you with 'hot roots' (meaning your roots will be white and the rest of your hair is still yellow or even orange). Once your ends are yellow, apply bleach to the 1/2 inch left near your scalp and process until your entire head is pale yellow, or the color of the inside of a banana peel. After this, tone with the shade of blonde you would like with 20 volume developer (I use Creme Toners, available at Sally's). Also, I like to use L'Oreal Super Blanc. It's safe to put on your scalp. Always check to make sure the bleach you're using is safe for on-scalp processing, not just for highlights. Good luck!
Reply:since you bleached your hair you have a pretty much clean head

now you can dye it

but only if your up for it
Reply:Hi. Why dont you jsut go to a hair dresser? If you attempt bleaching your hair again you might get a 90% bad result.
Reply:why not trim the ends off.. it is probably fryed hair that wont take the dye anymore.

Bleaching your hair.....?

i have a question about bleaching your hair...recently i bleach my hair using jus half of the kit and i never use anything to cover my hair and the colour is not really bright enough for me and i have already wait for about 40 mins.

does it really must use one whole kit to apply to my hair and does me must use cover plastic of anything to cover my hair when bleaching??

Bleaching your hair.....?
As long as theres a good coating it shouldnt matter how much you use, try wrappin ya head in glad wrap while waiting , it heats it....
Reply:try heating it up with the blowdryer
Reply:Put a plastic bag and towel over your head while the product is applied. Hair colour and bleach are both activated by heat and it will work better with it covered. The amount of product doesn't matter as long as your hair is covered if it still doesn't work try a higher volume peroxide.
Reply:Im a hairdresser and bleaching hair is one of the hardest things to get right even as a professional. If the product covers all your hair then you dont need to use a full kit. Depending on how dark your hair is in the first place it will only lift up to a certain degree (if dark usually a brassy colour that needs toning) plastic wrap will help the colour move along faster but it wont help you get lighter. As i said your hair as an individual will only lighten to a certain degree. if the mix isn't a powder and a liquid you mix together it is not the strongest colour you can get. Powders are the strongest bleach you can get but they can irritate the scalp if not done properly. If you want a nice blonde it is best to see your hairdresser. any other colour is fine to do at home but blonde's can go terrible wrong

Bleaching A Mustache?
you can bleach it , but don't leave it long enough for it to be too light that it will show try bleaching it for 3 mins
Reply:try sugaring. Sugaring is like waxing, but it wont irritate skin. It only sticks to hair. And it hurts less than waxing.

# Make sure your hair is long enough- at least 1/8 inch

# The sugar mixture has to be warm and spreadable, but not too hot! You don't want to burn yourself. Test it on a small portion of your skin before applying a thick layer.

# Spread a thick layer on the skin, with a special spreader or tongue depressor. It will harden very quickly so put just enough for one strip at the time

# Immediately apply cloth strip and smooth it in the direction of your hair growth.

# Hold one end of the strip firmly, and very quickly pull the other end off, in the opposite direction of your hair growth

Sugaring Home Recipe

2 C sugar

1/4 C lemon juice

1/4 C water

Combine all of the above in a saucepan.

Stir it constantly over medium- low heat until sugar turns deep brown(around 35-40 minutes). When ready, pour it into a thick plastic container. Let it cool down until warm, and spreads easy. If it cools down too much, you can put it in the microwave for 15-20 seconds.

Again, make sure it is not too hot before you apply it to the skin.
Reply:No i would not suggest bleaching it. I would go for waxing and if that doesn't help ask a pro.
Reply:Bleaching will show more your mustache, and it is harmful for the skin. Why do you regret shaving it? Shaving your mustache does not make the hair ticker. You can try shaving it daily (it will do good for your skin, as shaving is one of the finest dermabrasions) and let it grow a little to wax it just for special occasions, as waxing is harmful for the face skin too. However, if your problem is really huge, it is worth it to get a permanent hair removal for the mustache.

Bleaching hair???

my cousin wants me to bleach her hair how do I do it ????and what do I use??? she has shoulder length hair and it is blonde ...she wants it a lighter/whiter blonde. please I need to know how to safely do it and what to use... her mom suggested useing bleach and then thickening it with flour... I don't know anything about bleaching but I wouldn't think that, that is such a good idea...

Bleaching hair???
It will damage the hair, not a good idea
Reply:I would just go to the store and get a bottle of hair dye that is lighter than her current hair. The dye will have to correct amout of peroxide in it so it won't damage her hair. I think Garnier is the best.

I however would suggest heavily highlighting her hair. It is less noticeable when it grows out. For this I would suggest Frost and Glow. Pull through a cap and apply root to tip.
Reply:Go to a Sally Beauty Supply and have her BUY the stuff for it. Dont put straight bleach in her hair, you will fry it.

You need the proper items to bleach hair to minimize the damage.
Reply:First off, DO not use Bleach mixed with flour...that is not the right type of Bleach to use for lightening hair.

Go to a local Sally's, or a local haircare center that sells to the public, and ask one of the ladies in there to help you.

If it were me, and all she wants to do is go lighter, I would just get a highlighting kit, such as Sheerblonde, which has everything you need in it, along with the instructions. It cost about 10.00. Pull her hair through the cap, apply bleach mixture, and let it process...once its done, rinse, wash and condition....your done.

Don't make this harder than it is, because its not that hard to bleach someone's hair, just follow the directions.......
Reply:Go ahead and bleach hair %26amp; then go buy some Aqua Net hair spray at the local Wal-Mart!!!

Seriously though - why would she want to do that? Just go buy a home color kit with a light blond shade. It wil probably look much better than attempting at home bleaching.
Reply:no
Reply:I don't know anything about homemade methods but I wouldn't recommend mixing clorox with anything! If you don't mind spending about twenty bucks... You could get a highlighting kit from the store. You want a kit with a hook and a cap to pull the hair through. If she wants a really bright blonde buy a platinum toner to put on afterwards. Follow the directions on the box and then before you do your final shampooing make sure to put your toner on. The toner will take out the gold colors and highlight with white. Using bleach from the box is super safe for the integrity of the hair but achieving the results you want the first time is challenging. I have used a box my whole life and my hair has always looked great. I have dark brown hair naturally so it is always a gamble lifting it to blonde. Well Good luck and if you want great advce and great products go to Sally's Beauty supply they are licensed in hair design and color and lthey have all of the products right there. It will be a little more pricy but proably cheaper than going to a salon. Good Luck!
Reply:If her hair is already blonde, you can go pretty far with a high-lift blonde haircolor (rather than bleach). You can either go to a beauty supply store for this or order it online. Drugstores do not have the best haircolor to change the hair noticeably, but if Wal-mart is your only option, look for a light ash or beige blonde shade. This should lighten the hair as well.

Keep in mind that hair cannot turn a white blonde or platinum without bleaching, but bleaching is NEVER a simple or safe procedure if you are not a trained professional or someone with years to decades of experience. Going with a high-lift blonde haircolor will be a great first step.

Bleaching my mustache while pregnant?

i have always bleached the hair above my lip because im afraid waxing will make it grow back thicker. i have put off bleaching it since i found out i was pregnant but its getting really dark. is it okay to bleach it?

Bleaching my mustache while pregnant?
I'd just wait and ask your doctor since no one here as anything valuable to contribute to your question. I was hoping to hear a yes! :)
Reply:i really wouldn't recommend it. bleach is really strong compared to hair dye.
Reply:Probably not. You should try waxing. It doesn't come in thicker and it looks much nicer. When you are talking to someone up close or one on one they can still see the beached hair and proabably still have the same mean thoughts. Waxing is done just about as often but you have to do it less often the longer you do it.

Don't take the chance with your baby.
Reply:Waxing your mustache will not make it grow back thicker.....
Reply:I think ist not dangerous for your child ,because I never heard that fake blondes have born ill children because they are bleaching their hair.

To be sure, just talk with your doctor about it.
Reply:You have a mustache?

Try that new razor with 4 blades!
Reply:actually you can use any facial hair remover.. doc says its safe...

i use it around my eyebrows and it works good.

i promise it doesnt grow in thicker or darker.. stays the same..

its just easier then bleachings, its gone for a while.. and its simplier :)

my friend uses the same facial remover for her mustache... she has been using it for years now.. not darker or thicker..

waxing im not sure about..
Reply:Try making a paste out of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda - my sister had some darker facial hairs and swore by it. - that should be safe enough for now.
Reply:Don't risk anything when you're pregnant. Don't be an idiot.

Bleaching my Random Coloured Hair....?

I have naturally dark blonde hair, and last year I dyed it blonde, unsuccessfully! It went orangey, and since last February, have been having blonde (bleached) highlights put in over the top of it, but only half a head (therefore, just the top layer.) I'm quite bored of this now, and the bottom has nearly grown out. I'm thinking of bleaching my hair, but would this work, as it is currently different colours, but mainly bleached. I want a bright blonde colour, and I have been getting this with highlights, but now want an all over colour. Also, would I be able to touch up roots myself? And which salon would you recommend? (UK?) A big name or a little name? Thank you!!! xx

Bleaching my Random Coloured Hair....?
Bleach is pretty cool to use, the burning sucks though. Most likely is will work but you don't want your hair so blonde it turns white! It's best you get is done at a very good hair salon. I don't live in the UK but if there's a salon in your area called Yelloworange you should deffinately consider going to them, it may be quite pricey ($45.00 and higher) but if you really want it done then I think you should.
Reply:Go To A Good Salon And Get It Done, Sounds A Little Too Complicated For A Home Job.
Reply:Its good that you want to get it done in a salon because being it is multi-toned and already chemically processed, it should be done by a professional. Go in for a consultation and then decide if its for you or not. By then they should be able to give you a price quote as well. I wouldn't say you should do your own roots unless you know exactly what was used on your hair, because you can end up multi toned again and then you are back to square one ...LOL. So, I hope something I said helped you out.

Bleaching my hair?

I just dyed my hair dark dark brown when my hair ir oringally just brown. I died it about 2 weeks ago. I want to bleach some of my bangs and then put pink color on it, but I don' want it to reach the rest of my hair. The othe problem is, since my hair is dark dark brown and dyed, when I color it the bleach, will it come out orange? And is it safe to do that with my hair that color? Or is there another way without bleaching it to put the color in?

Bleaching my hair?
At this point I would say splurge and go to a professional hair stylist. Bleaching your hair is soooo risky when you do it yourself (especially if your hair is really dark now). I had a friend who definitely ended up orange. You should be able to find someone who won't charge too much, since you aren't bleaching your whole head of hair. They can also make sure that the only areas of your hair that get bleached are the ones you want. They can also put the pink in too, and they can make sure that it really pops. Good luck!
Reply:WHO KNOWS ?
Reply:dont do it just leave it alone!
Reply:Alex you should have saved your money to have a professional do it for you. Yes it could turn anywhere from orange to purple.
Reply:Go to a professional. Otherwise, you will just fry your hair and you will never be able to do anything to it again!
Reply:Don't Bleach...it kills your hair
Reply:It depends how long you leave the bleach in.

The dye goes from brown, the orange, to blonde, so just go by the directions on the box and consantly check in a mirror to watch your hair.

And believe me, from a person whose whole head is bleached, as long as you take care of that part of your hair it won't kill it, like other people have said.

I recommend Loreal Super Blonde if you're going to do it yourself. And don't listen to other people who say bleaching your hair yourself is scary. I've been doing my hair myself for years. There are directions and it's pretty self explanitory.
Reply:i would go to a salon and have a pro do it
Reply:Don't know, but always check the eyebrows(that's the true tell,exceptin'-that's what a natural told me.)
Reply:My hair is almost black and dyed different shades of brown and now with highlights because I bleached it not too long ago and it took me a few tries to get it light enough to color it the color I wanted but it didn't turn orange, if it does it might just be not light enough so bleach it again where you want it, it all depends on what product you buy!

Oh yeah, and you should use a blow dryer on high heat for a few minutes when you first start out the bleaching process, makes things go faster.

Be careful though because bleach can really hurt your hair! You might want to consider getting it professionally done.
Reply:It may come out orange, but if you leave it in long enough (like, an hour) it'll be a pale yellow and come out fine when you dye it pink. It's not exactly great for your hair, but as long as you take great care of it and condition/moisturize a lot, it'll be fine.
Reply:I recommend going to a salon- if the mess it up they have to fix it.
Reply:U'll have to do it twice

., And don't be scared of bleach., i love it, i do it all the time it dosent damage ur hair any worse than dying it., ull be fine.
Reply:If you put bleach in it. it will turn all different shades of brown red orange yellow blond then white. I wouldnt use bleach right out of a clorox bottle. go to a hair product place and ask them what they recommend for bleach.

Pull all the hair back by elastic/ headband/ clips etc. then u can use tinfoil and lay the piece of hair over it then fold it.

If you want to test a piece of your hair to see what will happen. fnd a good hidden piece that you wouldnt mind cuting out and it wont ever be noticeable. cut it off and use it as a test piece!!

good luck!
Reply:First, you need to seclude the area that you want to bleach. part that away from the other hair and put somthing on the stuff you don't want colored to protect it from the bleach. (you can buy barrier creams %26amp; such at the beauty supply) once you have covered the stuff you don't want colored from the roots down, I suggest putting foil over it just in case. Next, go to sally beauty supply and buy some Loreal Quick Blue. I suggest getting a 40 volume peroxide with it, though be careful when processing. You may also get some scalp irritation preventor to put in it. (also available at sally) Once mixed according to directions, apply 1/4 inch from the scalp through to the ends. Don't apply to the roots because bleach swells. once you have it on, you need to cover it. Since you are doing this at home, you can use saran wrap so you can see the color as it is processing. As soon as you have it covered, apply heat via a blow dryer. Hold it about 6-8 inches away. Be sure to check it often, and not to leave it on longer than the reccomended time. Once you are done processing, rinse it and dry it. It should be light enough at that time that you can apply the pink with no problem. It may be sort of "yellow" in color, but it is fine to color over.

Hope this helps.
Reply:You have to leave the bleach in for about an hour to an hour and a half and it will not be orange. Also bleaching your hair burns so make sure u put sometihng under your bangs so that way you dont burn your forehead.. All you need is a bleaching kit and the pink hair dye theres nothing else you can do.
Reply:you have to strip the color out first, you just dyed it two weeks ago.

you have to get a color stripper at a salon or hair supply store (not cvs or drugfair, look up sally's beauty supply)

then you can bleach. it will turn orange anyway, because brown hair takes more than one bleaching to get to blonde. your hair will be dead and fried from it

theres no other way to put pink in your hair without bleaching because its a lighter dye and wouldnt show up over dark brown. your hair might fall out
Reply:you really should not bleach your hair that soon after dying it. there is usually a recommended time to wait. also as you used a dye darker than your own colour the bleach will not lift it properly and so yes you are likely to be an orange colour (trust me as i have had past experiences)also do not do it twice as this is just the same as doing it once and leaving it on too long. you will kill the hair (extended use can lead to alopecia) any reputable salon should do a strand test first to see if your hair is strong enough. when i had one done they said as i had dyed my hair recently the hair would fall apart. but if they do one then they may find your hair is strong enough. as an alternative suggestion i would say coloured extensions. you can have them done at salons or get at home kits. they are really easy and you can choose how many and where you want them. they use a little heat gun thing to melt the glue on them to fasten them into your own hair. this way you wont damage your hair and you can remove them when you want.

p.s you really shouldnt do it more than once, and brown hair doesnt have to go orange first, natural brown hair just needs stronger bleach, usually one that is at least a 40 vol.

Bleaching upper lip hair? please help girls.?

ok so i have a little bit of dark upper lip hair....not a full blown mustache obviously but enought to bother me when i look in mirror. i have decided bleaching is the only way to go for me as i can't afford to get it waxed every month or so and shaving is just not an option!! i am scared i will stuff it up if i bleach it myself, that it will go a really crazy white colour and everyone will notice it even more. does anyone actually go to a beauty salon to get that done? where someone who knows what they are doing can do it? or is that not something they do? also how long does the bleach last before you nee to do it again? thanks! :o)

Bleaching upper lip hair? please help girls.?
try jolen bleach....doesnt make the hair white but golden....the longer the bleach stays on ur hair the lighter it will b...dont over-keep it..
Reply:find dye so it is the same as your skin color so it doesn't show as much
Reply:you can wax at home yourself, but once you start, you will probably have to do it forever. bleaching is easy, but if you have a significant amount of hair, you may still notice it.
Reply:eeeeeewewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!...
Reply:You would pay more to get it bleached at a salon than you would to get it waxed. You can get it waxed for about $15 and it lasts 4-6 weeks. If you try to bleach at home, be very careful. If you have sensitive skin, the chemicals can cause a serious burn. The same goes for waxing at home. If you don't do it right you can actually take a couple of layers of skin off. It's really best just to have a professional wax it. Call around and get the best price, and treat yourself.
