At home hair bleaching...?

ok i know if you bleach your hair, its better to do it in a salon. but i went to a salon and since my hair is so long they want over 250 dollars to turn me into a blonde. no way in hell i am going to pay that much. my hair is a medium brown color, and i just wanted to know if anyone had any experience bleaching theyre hair at home. ive dont highlights myself and they turned out awesome, so im wondering if this will be easy like that. also, what bleach should i use??

At home hair bleaching...?
Bleach can and will KILL your hair if you don't know what you are doing. Here's a tip, go to your local beauty school. They will do it for a fraction of the cost and it will turn out beautiful!
Reply:Avon has some lightening products. Also free beauty tips too. visit this website.
Reply:i heard sun in is really good . spray a lot of that in n then go out in the sun. U coud also try lemon juice n then go out in he sun. both i heard work really well
Reply:I would not bleach my hair at home!try going to a cheaper salon....like cost cutters or something.they will probably do just as good a job as the spendier salon.my mom bleached her hair at home and now it is frizzy and white....and it hasn't been silky since she died it!do not use any kind of bleaching product that is do it yourself!
Reply:Okay well i've done my hair soo many times. Bleaching, KILLS IT. Seriously, you DONT want to go blonde. Espesially when your hair is long. Keep your natural color! Coz once you go blonde you wont ever be able to get that exact color back. Maybe try a few blonde streaks in it or a few highlights or something. don't bleach at home, your hair could turn out orange-ish or all around different colors of blonde. trust me... When you have blonde hair you have to take really good care of it. If you dont it gets dried out and youll have to start cutting it because you'll get split ends and ****. Dont go all blonde. Highlights are way better. Id go to a salon and get highlights. Its way different dying your whole head than just streaks... STAY DARK!!!
Reply:Use hydrogen peroxide. I've never tried it but I heard it works..
Reply:Ha. I tried that once at home. It took my hair 6 years to recover, and I wound up covering it with pink dye during that time to cover the orange blotchy mess I created!

Going from medium brown to blonde will most likely take 2 seperate steps of bleaching to complete it, and there is a HUGE room for error if you do it at home. It will also fry your hair if you bleach it twice at home, and youll have lovely yellow straw instead of long blonde hair. Also, if you do it at home you are waaaay more likely to wind up with big patches of hair that are yellow, some that are orange, some that are light orange, you get the picture.

Your best bet is to either suck it up and pay the salon to do it right.
Reply:ooooh my god i predict a disaster! But...i know what that desires like. I would go to a college training nite and get a trainee to do it cheaper.i promise u a whole head of bleach is not recommened and not only wil it burn ur scalp but u wil have patchy parts in ur hair,i promise u hun ive been there. U would be better saving up. Or in the meantime give urself a wild new look by buying blonde hair extentions and putting loads in. I have real hair ones which costed a fraction of the price and im addicted, they're really dramatic.and it stopped me wanting to go blonde!
Reply:i tried laundry bleach last nite no results yet and my head started to hurt a lil bit so dont try that well if u do only use a little bit
