Bleaching hair?

How many times does someone have to bleach thier hair for their hair to get messed up? Just once?


I have almost black hair and I want to get it a dark reddish color. If i use bleach irst, do i have to bleach my hair until it becomes white and then put the reddish color on top? or do i bleach my hair like half way (so its not totally white) and then put the other reddish color on top.


i know bleaching damages the hair a lot which i dont want to do, but i dont know any other alternative that isnt too expensive (like salon work) and i don't like the color result from Sun in. ive heard about Palty, this japanese dye but i have no idea where to buy it

Bleach really ruins your hair so don't use it.. I used it before and it made my hair fall out where I tested it at. Since your hair is so dark it would be best to let a professional do your hair. No matter where or how you get it done you should know that red don't stay in as long as a blonde would so you will have to have it done more often than if you were putting blonde in it.

Reply:okay... with your hair~ don't bleach it all the way or it will be pink and if you don't at all it will be nasty.
Reply:I would go have it done professionally at least the 1st time you mess with your color. If you have longer hair it is sooooo hard on your hair to bleach it and if you do not want to cut it off soon I would just endure the expense and get it done right. It will cost more to get it fixed than to just do it right the 1st time. Believe me, it will save time and heartache.
Reply:well.. bleach can and usually will be very damaging to your hair. i bleached my dark brown hair before, and i deep conditioned before and after i did it, so my hair didnt get too danaged at all. you should bleach it til all the color is gone..... if you dont and dye it the color you want it might not come out the color thats on the box. so start from bleach blonde hair if you can.
Reply:I think you should go to a salon its so much easyer and more procice and then you wont stuff up your hair then you will never hear the end of it.
Reply:You don't have to use bleach on your hair unless you want to turn it blond. You can use a 20 volume peroxide with an auburn hair color and you should get the lift you want. 20 volume will lift yor hair color two levels (med. brown). You can also use 30 volume-this will lift it three levels (lt brown). You can get the stuff you need at Sally, and they can also advise you. Have fun!
