Bleaching your hair....?

ive never bleached my hair before basically.. ive had red in my hair [[ very bright ]] for years now... and of course red naturally lightenes your hair anyway...

I wanted to go purple and my hairdresser said just dye over the red it will turn out purple... it did

but it was too dark for my liking... two things really

1) will bleaching the purple [[ semi perminant meant for bleached hair, stays on longer on bleached hair ]] dye over the colour so it will go on the correct colour tone

2) how much does bleching genrally damage your hair? [[ I know alot, but other have it done every 8 weeksor so, highlights ect ]]

thanks !!!

Bleaching your hair....?
as long as you bleach your hair correctly then there shouldn't be a problem, the horror stories that you hear about bleach are from the ones who try and achieve platinum by bleaching their hair to white which is a big NO NO as they are bleaching out ALL natural pigment so in turn their hair will BREAK, SNAP AND BE FRIED. you should only ever bleach your hair to the pale yellow stage and then tone to platinum. and this is how we do it in the salons. for you personally now you have a few colours on your hair you will need to use a colour remover (use colorfix by robert craig if you live in USA or schwarzkopf igora phantom if you live in the UK) this will remove the now artificial pigment from your hair giving you a blank canvas. after this procedure you can then bleach, bleach to the pale yellow stage ONLY, please see this swatch list for an example of pale yellow: http://www.clairolprofessional.com/dispe... you are then free to put on the colour of your choice which should take correctly as you will be lightened to the correct stage.
Reply:Its hard to say, bleach does funny things to hair its going to be a wait and see thing for you unfortunately.

It only takes one incorrect bleaching to stuff your hair
