Bleaching hair to dye it funny colors?

Ok, so I had my medium brown hair bleached in chunks so I could dye it green, purple, etc. I wanted to do my whole head, so I ended up bleaching it for about 6 hours to get it light enough. It got really frizzy (duh, I knew that) and I never ended up dying it anyway. Well, now I am thinking about doing it again and actually dyiong it, but the blonde is almost all grown out. If I do bleach it, are there any suggestions? If I go to a salon will they be able to bleach it and not get it so frizzy? I want to know if other people have had good experiences and how they managed to keep their hair looking good but got it light enough to be able to get true colors on their hair also.

do not bleache it please, it will ruin your hair.
Reply:I got my hair bleached when I was 15, Im a brunette It took to the hairdresser like 1 hour to get my hair white blonde and then apply the hot pink color.

2 months ago I wanted to turn light brown but I have dyed my hair black the whole last year so it took 3 hours and it didnt end up white blinde it was like orange and my hair was so damaged, it still is!

I would highly suggest you to go a hairdresser and you should wait at least 2 months to bleach it again

good luck
Reply:6 hours is far to long to leave bleach in ur hair it should be done in round 40 to 60 minutes if not u havnt mixed the products right best thing would be to go into a salon or a hair store and find out some information about it
Reply:The reason it ended up so frizzy last time is because you bleached it too long! One hour is the maximum time you are supposed to leave bleach in. You are lucky your hair didn't disolve completely...If you are doing it at home agian, I would suggest getting bleach from a beauty supply store such as Sally's. Get powdered bleach, 40volume bleach, a brush, and a bowl. If you do it right, it should be light enough within an hour. Then use a light toner on it so it won't be yellow...But if you go to a salon, they can also bleach it w/o making it frizzy...Also I knew a girl who bleached her hair and it turned out kinda orangey and then dyed it colors, and it worked really well... :)
Reply:well i did go to my stylist for a bleached streak and then she dyed it red (but it went pink, merh pinks good too)

it didnt seem to hurt my hair at all

but just be careful if dying at home as the home styling kits are not as good as pro ones and they are more damaging to the hair. my recomendation.....go to the hairdressers.

and by the way.....good look to go for!

p.s. as my streak grew out it chenged to a lovely golden colour which is really nice too :-P
