Bleaching my hair?

I just dyed my hair dark dark brown when my hair ir oringally just brown. I died it about 2 weeks ago. I want to bleach some of my bangs and then put pink color on it, but I don' want it to reach the rest of my hair. The othe problem is, since my hair is dark dark brown and dyed, when I color it the bleach, will it come out orange? And is it safe to do that with my hair that color? Or is there another way without bleaching it to put the color in?

Bleaching my hair?
At this point I would say splurge and go to a professional hair stylist. Bleaching your hair is soooo risky when you do it yourself (especially if your hair is really dark now). I had a friend who definitely ended up orange. You should be able to find someone who won't charge too much, since you aren't bleaching your whole head of hair. They can also make sure that the only areas of your hair that get bleached are the ones you want. They can also put the pink in too, and they can make sure that it really pops. Good luck!
Reply:WHO KNOWS ?
Reply:dont do it just leave it alone!
Reply:Alex you should have saved your money to have a professional do it for you. Yes it could turn anywhere from orange to purple.
Reply:Go to a professional. Otherwise, you will just fry your hair and you will never be able to do anything to it again!
Reply:Don't Bleach...it kills your hair
Reply:It depends how long you leave the bleach in.

The dye goes from brown, the orange, to blonde, so just go by the directions on the box and consantly check in a mirror to watch your hair.

And believe me, from a person whose whole head is bleached, as long as you take care of that part of your hair it won't kill it, like other people have said.

I recommend Loreal Super Blonde if you're going to do it yourself. And don't listen to other people who say bleaching your hair yourself is scary. I've been doing my hair myself for years. There are directions and it's pretty self explanitory.
Reply:i would go to a salon and have a pro do it
Reply:Don't know, but always check the eyebrows(that's the true tell,exceptin'-that's what a natural told me.)
Reply:My hair is almost black and dyed different shades of brown and now with highlights because I bleached it not too long ago and it took me a few tries to get it light enough to color it the color I wanted but it didn't turn orange, if it does it might just be not light enough so bleach it again where you want it, it all depends on what product you buy!

Oh yeah, and you should use a blow dryer on high heat for a few minutes when you first start out the bleaching process, makes things go faster.

Be careful though because bleach can really hurt your hair! You might want to consider getting it professionally done.
Reply:It may come out orange, but if you leave it in long enough (like, an hour) it'll be a pale yellow and come out fine when you dye it pink. It's not exactly great for your hair, but as long as you take great care of it and condition/moisturize a lot, it'll be fine.
Reply:I recommend going to a salon- if the mess it up they have to fix it.
Reply:U'll have to do it twice

., And don't be scared of bleach., i love it, i do it all the time it dosent damage ur hair any worse than dying it., ull be fine.
Reply:If you put bleach in it. it will turn all different shades of brown red orange yellow blond then white. I wouldnt use bleach right out of a clorox bottle. go to a hair product place and ask them what they recommend for bleach.

Pull all the hair back by elastic/ headband/ clips etc. then u can use tinfoil and lay the piece of hair over it then fold it.

If you want to test a piece of your hair to see what will happen. fnd a good hidden piece that you wouldnt mind cuting out and it wont ever be noticeable. cut it off and use it as a test piece!!

good luck!
Reply:First, you need to seclude the area that you want to bleach. part that away from the other hair and put somthing on the stuff you don't want colored to protect it from the bleach. (you can buy barrier creams %26amp; such at the beauty supply) once you have covered the stuff you don't want colored from the roots down, I suggest putting foil over it just in case. Next, go to sally beauty supply and buy some Loreal Quick Blue. I suggest getting a 40 volume peroxide with it, though be careful when processing. You may also get some scalp irritation preventor to put in it. (also available at sally) Once mixed according to directions, apply 1/4 inch from the scalp through to the ends. Don't apply to the roots because bleach swells. once you have it on, you need to cover it. Since you are doing this at home, you can use saran wrap so you can see the color as it is processing. As soon as you have it covered, apply heat via a blow dryer. Hold it about 6-8 inches away. Be sure to check it often, and not to leave it on longer than the reccomended time. Once you are done processing, rinse it and dry it. It should be light enough at that time that you can apply the pink with no problem. It may be sort of "yellow" in color, but it is fine to color over.

Hope this helps.
Reply:You have to leave the bleach in for about an hour to an hour and a half and it will not be orange. Also bleaching your hair burns so make sure u put sometihng under your bangs so that way you dont burn your forehead.. All you need is a bleaching kit and the pink hair dye theres nothing else you can do.
Reply:you have to strip the color out first, you just dyed it two weeks ago.

you have to get a color stripper at a salon or hair supply store (not cvs or drugfair, look up sally's beauty supply)

then you can bleach. it will turn orange anyway, because brown hair takes more than one bleaching to get to blonde. your hair will be dead and fried from it

theres no other way to put pink in your hair without bleaching because its a lighter dye and wouldnt show up over dark brown. your hair might fall out
Reply:you really should not bleach your hair that soon after dying it. there is usually a recommended time to wait. also as you used a dye darker than your own colour the bleach will not lift it properly and so yes you are likely to be an orange colour (trust me as i have had past experiences)also do not do it twice as this is just the same as doing it once and leaving it on too long. you will kill the hair (extended use can lead to alopecia) any reputable salon should do a strand test first to see if your hair is strong enough. when i had one done they said as i had dyed my hair recently the hair would fall apart. but if they do one then they may find your hair is strong enough. as an alternative suggestion i would say coloured extensions. you can have them done at salons or get at home kits. they are really easy and you can choose how many and where you want them. they use a little heat gun thing to melt the glue on them to fasten them into your own hair. this way you wont damage your hair and you can remove them when you want.

p.s you really shouldnt do it more than once, and brown hair doesnt have to go orange first, natural brown hair just needs stronger bleach, usually one that is at least a 40 vol.
