Bleaching you hair?

I'd rather do it at home, but I can go to a professional if it would be better. I bleach and dye the very ends of my hair all the time at home, but I want to bleach all of my hair (I have a LOT of hair, lower-back length). I've never really been able to get my hair white or even a very light blonde (light golden blonde is the best I've done). How can I get my really dark brown hair white before dyeing? How much bleach should I get for so much hair? Would it be better to just have a professional do it (though I did get them to bleach the ends the first time and they messed up real bad, they barely got it light brown!)? How often should I rebleach my hair when leftover dye build up, or is toner enough?

I want to make sure I get most of the yellow out before dyeing to make sure the dye will be its brightest and last the longest (only semipermanent). Any bleaching tips and resources would be great. Thanks!

i dont think u should bleach all of your hair. the bleach will dry your hair and cause breakage. I have tried bleaching my hair and it ruined my hair. That was about 1 yr. ago and my hair is just starting to look healthy again. I will never try to bleach my hair ever again. Good Luck!
