Hair bleaching horrors?

For a convention I'm going to, I want my hair a beautiful platinum blonde.


I have dyed my hair three times, all a dark brown. The last time this was performed was in November. Is it safe to bleach over this?





Furthermore, after bleaching my hair, I want to dye it black on top, silver on bottom with my layers. The bleached hair would only last at most, a month.





Should I bleach my hair or not?





btw, yes, I know bleaching is bad for my hair. I just want to know if it's worth going through all the trouble of bleaching my whole head instead of bleaching what I want to dye silver.





I'm really nervous about doing this... any suggestions? :

this is definitely something that I would get professionally done as you can end up with different colours all over the place.





A friend of mine tried to strip and bleach her hair and didn't follow the instructions which were to strip from the roots first. well she had bright orange roots down to about half way on her bob. Not a good look





that said, if you are set on the colour change and you know a good colourist, go for it!

Reply:you will need to wait for the brown dye to come out .. go to the salon and get the colour stripped before you go anywhere near the hair bleach.


brown has a lot of red tones in it and if you don't get the bleach absolutely spot on in timing it will turn orange


i suggest you go and get the parts you want bleach stripped and then done in the salon.

Reply:sounds like a lot of damage that will be inflicted upon your poor hair. i once got my natural long hair dyed peroxide blonde with foils and the ones on the bottom were left in too long and broke off when i put it in a ponytail so i had a whole heap of short wispy bits at the base of my neck. That's just my experience because it was overfried. your hair may be stronger
Reply:i had black hair nd used 40 vol bleach left in for an hour nd it went white...





but if it didnt work for u wait at least a day for ur hair to get over it nd heal,so to speak,then bleach again.
Reply:I would stop bleaching all together... my moms hair dresser had a girl come in once, she bleached her hair blonde so much her hair was like straw... and she tried taking it out herself and her hair went all these horrible colors. Your hair becomes damaged if you bleach it too often/
