Hair bleaching kit?

I want to bleach my hair soon and I was wondering what bleaching kit I should get. I have black hair, so I obviously need something strong. After bleaching my hair, I'm going to dye it a light brown color. What bleaching kit is the best for black hair? Please don't suggest that I visit a salon. I've definitely ruled out that choice.

Hair bleaching kit?
If you are going from black to light brown, this is only 3 levels of lift/lightening. You don't need bleach to only lift 3 levels. The bleach is an unnecessary process.

Visit your local Sally Beauty Supply store. You need to pick a permanent haircolor like Clairol Professional Miss Clairol or Wella American Classics Color Charm.

For instance, if you go with Miss Clairol, you need to choose a level 4 haircolor (lightest brown). All of the hair swatches are on display in the store, so you can pick the shade you like the best. You will need to mix the 2oz bottle level 4 haircolor with 40 volume developer. Put this on your hair and let it process 30 - 45 minutes at room temp.

You can achieve light brown hair with haircolor, and your hair will be in much better condition afterwards.

I highly recommend that you choose a level 4 haircolor with an ash base. This will help you cancel out too much orange or brassiness. Miss Clairol Brass Buster shades are the best. Ask the Sally store associate to help you find Miss Clairol #36D.
