Bleaching in scalp permanent damage?

I have dyed my hair many times in the past 6 years, I havent dyed it in almost two and I hadn't cut off the damage so my hair never seemed thick and always broke. I was wondering if from that one time bleaching and my dying a few years back could have ruined my scalp and my hair will never grow back the same? Does bleaching and dying ruin the scalp forever therefore causing the hair not to grow or grow the same and causing the hair to break when its even natural? It worries me, I am going to keep cutting it every 6 weeks now after these years and see how it goes but could someone answer my questions and tell me if my hair is gone forever...

Bleaching in scalp permanent damage?
Hair can definitely become damaged and break from being colored many times, but the chemicals only affect the hair that it comes in contact with. Color does not damage your scalp other than possible temporary sores from on-scalp bleach or itchy or dry scalp, which will fix itself on its own or with a good moisturizing shampoo. Hair which has never been colored ("natural hair") will not grow in damaged, just because of previous dye jobs, ALTHOUGH if your hair is very damaged it will get split ends. If these ends are not cut off as with regular trims, the hairs will continue to split all the way up the hair shaft and onto the healthy natural hair. If you want to preserve the healthy hair that you have, before your damaged hair ruins it, get the damaged hair all cut off! In the 2 years since you bleached it, it should have grown approximately 12 inches (1/2 inch per month), so even if you cut off all of your old damaged hair, you'll still have long hair. Your hair is definitely not gone forever, you just have to get your ends healthy again by doing what I said. I am a licensed cosmetologist, so if you have any other hair questions, feel free to ask.
Reply:You can cause scalp burns and other similar problems, but no it won't destroy your hair forever. You'll be okay :-) But remember that as you age, your hair growth will slow down and the texture can change after hormonal upheavals (puberty, pregnancy, menopause).
Reply:your hair isnt gone forever it is just going to take a lot of time to mend the damages.... there are two kind of bleaches out there, on scalp and off scalp and if you used the wrong one you would habe known back when you did it b/c you would've gotten huge welts and burning.... be patient it will come with time
