Severely damaged hair after bleaching. Can it be repaired?

I dyed my hair dark brown, which came out almost black. I hated it, so I bleached it so I could dye it a lighter brown. After bleaching, my hair was bright orange. I knew that the light brown dye would not be able to cover this color. Even though I was afraid of damage, I bleached it again, so it’d go blonde. I then dyed my hair light brown.

I was right about double-bleaching being too much for my hair. My hair has dried out considerably. In particular, there are a few patches of hair that are so dry and porous that after I wash my hair, it feels sticky after the rest of my hair is dry, because it is holding so much water. These bits of hair didn’t hold the hair dye at all, and came out blonde.

My hair color is now very uneven, with obvious looking light patches. What can I do? The parts of my hair that are the most damaged are right at the top of my head, and the only way I could cut them out would be to practically shave my head. Is there any way of reversing the damage?

I heard mayonnaise can nourish dry hair and help it not be so brittle just take a spoon of mayonaaise spread through hair shampoo cap for ten minutes and then wash hair style as usual
Reply:i have a very similar problem and have been trying everyythingg possible .. try cutting your hair .. buy a hair reconstructor in sally beauty .. only wash your hair once every two weeks and nevrr put gel in it or heat style ! it shld look better in a few months
Reply:my hair was very damaged too. get a hair cut and tell them to cut the tips. after that go buy olive oil (for your hair) and it will get repaired. try it! i know it will work for you.
Reply:Poor you! I've seen lots of this over my years working in salons, the worst I ever saw was a poor girl whose hair took on a greenish tinge and started to break off!

You are not as bad as that yet! But stop bleaching and dying now and get yourself along to a really good hairdresser as soon as possible. You cannot reverse the damage but they should be able to help minmise it and maybe even out the colour a bit.

The stickyness is because the hair has stretched, and you need to be careful it doesn't break off. Try not to be too rough when shampooing, brushing, blowdrying etc. Conditioner, and lots of it, will help soften your hair, making it easier to handle but you are going to need more intense treatment. Hot oil works well, and I have had good results with henna wax, but you really do need professional advice to deal with this.

I hope you can get it sorted without too much bother, but please please please don't try to dye again untill it is strong enough to take it!
