My friend has pretty blonde bleached hair because he is out in the surf nearly everyday. His hair is naturally a light-caramel brown although where his hair has been sun bleached it has turned a white/blonde color, is the process of sun bleached different to chemical bleached, i though his hair would have turned orange before it turned blonde?
- oh i plan on trying the same thing, my hair is medium brown, if i stay out in the surf for the next 2 week will i see blonde results?
Sun Bleached Hair?
the process of bleaching with sun and bleaching with chemicals is different, even if the results might seem the same, because the chemical processes for each is different.
i used to see my naturally dark-blonde hair gain some nice lighter blonde highlights just from being in the sun. if you want to be sure you get some lighter streaks,, squirt some lemon juice on your hair. the acid in the juice won't bleach (or harm) your hair but it will enhance the sun-bleaching process. (be sure to wash it out later, of course.)
whether your hair turns orange or blonde will depend on how much natural red it contains to begin with. it may be hard to tell in advance just by looking at your hair, but i have a feeling you're about to find out!

Reply:Sure, surf, sand and water all add up to being blond and tanned!
Reply:Youll probably see highlights, though it wont turn bleach blonde in 2 weeks.
Ive never actually seen sun do that to hair.
Chemical and sun both fry the hair, and sounds like his hair is lighter, so yours may not turn as blonde.
It also depends on the type of hair you have.
Reply:you should try the product sun in
it uses no harmfull chemicals and is acctually not bad for your hair at all
you'll go blonde, but it'll look SOOOOOO natural its crazy!
but yes just staying in the sun will bleach your hair the same way as it would fade a couch, or curtains.
GOOD LUCK!
Reply:my hair (which is light brown) turns more blond in the summer and my friends hair who is blond turns white blond
Reply:nope just a lighter brown but maybe a lil blond not much!
Reply:My friend had really dark brown hair and it kind of went orange then a weird yellow so your hair may turn blonde. Ensure you wear lots of sun cream though! :)
Reply:People whose hair naturally bleaches seem to always have it come out lighter and look right.
I have dirty blond and it won't bleach very much naturally. When I've tried to accelrate it with Hydrogen Peroxide it always goes orange... I wouldn't do it. People also recommended using lemon juice, but it never worked, and my eyes burned :-)
Reply:"SUN IN" nice stuff and you won't have orange hair (Hint Hint)
Reply:I was in Egypt once. The native children there I saw were swimming every day in the water. They were Egyptian with darker skin and dark hair, but some had positively blonde hair. You could tell it was totally natural, these children were very poor, they hardly had any clothes let alone money for hair dye. The blonde hair was definitely from spending day after day playing in the water. Oh yes, if you are out in the sun enough you're hair, even brown, will lighten and possibly to blonde. It wasn't all the children, just a few of them. You can add things to push it blonder sooner as I doubt you are going to spend months in the sun and water as these children were doing.
