I've coloured my hair previously, but my last dye was at least 2 months ago. My hair is light-dark brown.
And now I want to bleach it. I've bought the L'oreal Paris Perfect blonde bleaching kit.
I'm just worried about damaging my hair as it's quite thin.
Also, after I bleach it I want to dye it using L'oreal Paris Feria Color 3D (which is a plum-red colour)
I was planning to wait about 3 days after I bleached it before I dye it.
But I'm not sure how long I should wait. I don't want to damage my hair or mess up the colour.
Any ideas?
Bleaching my hair?
Do not do this yourself at home. Let me repeat...DO NOT do this yourself. First off, bleach will make your hair extremely pourous and you probably wont get it the right color blond without completely damaging your hair. Second, I think Feria is a permanent haircolor, which means it will also strip your hair somewhat to deposit the new color. And you hair will be completely wrecked if it doesnt all just break off. And third, if your doesnt all fall out, there is no way will never be able to get your roots right when you need a touch up. Oh %26amp; did I mention that reds oxidize (fade) faster than any other color. That means in a couple weeks your hair will be orange or pink-ish.
I'm scared for you. Please....go to salon or at least just use the red shade by itself. The red wont be as vibrant, but it will lift your natural shade a bit anyway %26amp; the touch-ups will be easier for you to maintain on your own.
Reply:I am not really sure what end effect you are trying to achieve. Don't use a permanent colro on your hair after bleaching it or you will damage your hair- use a semi permanent. Personally I would go to a salon though.
Reply:I would go to a professional. Because if you bleach your hair, then dye it red....you're gunna have pink hair, sweetie.Which, if you are indeed P!nk, then it's fine.lol. Go to a pro.
Reply:the box bleach usually never works unless you have lots of experience with it. I suggest getting powder bleach and mixing it with peroxide yourself. but as for the coloring, you can put it in after you bleach your hair. just whenever you rinse out your hair after the bleach has processed, put TONS of conditioner in your hair. (no shampoo) and that should be good. after your hair is dyed, continue to apply lots of conditioner, you should also get some kind of hair serum to keep your hair moisturized. goodluck! :)
Reply:I get my hair dyed red and would honestly say i would never attempt to do it at home, go to a professional or you may well end up with a hair nightmare
Reply:Go to a salon otherwise you might be making an emergency appointment at one after you've done it!
Reply:Please please dont do it yourself. I have so many people coming in to my salon telling me they have used a home bleaching kit.. and let me tell you it is not a pretty site!! I know it is alot cheaper but, if your worried about your hair breaking and all that, just pay the extra to go to a professional.
Hope this helps!!
Reply:I am currently bleaching my hair from medium brown to white blonde.
I have bleached it a total of 8 times this week (which i know is REALLY bad for your hair) and my hair still isn't the colour i want it. It has brassy yellow tones in it that i can't seem to remove.
My hair is really thick and was in good condition before i started and now it is feeling fairly dry, but not as bad as people told me.
You could end up ruining your hair and wasting your money, then having to to go a salon to get them to sort it out for you so i don't think i would risk it.
